I nodded. “They said we’d be glued to our chamber pots for days. They’ve invited us to their suite for drinks.”

“I didn’t hear them say that.” Nikkos cocked his head, giving me a funny look. “When did you hear this?”

I heaved out a shaky breath, preparing to tell my mates about my secret magical ability. It wasn’t that I’d been intentionally keeping it from them. With all that had happened since they’d found me, we had more pressing matters to discuss. “I heard their thoughts.”

“You heard their thoughts?” All three of my mates blurted.

“Yeah,” I said as I smoothed my hands over the soft fabric of my new cloak. “One of my other magical abilities. I can hear thoughts that bonded mates project to each other.” Then I remembered Lady Veronica’s comment earlier and added, “And apparently Lady Veronica knows about my gift, too, even though I’ve never told anyone before.”

“Then how does she know?” Drae asked.

I shrugged. “I think her mind powers are stronger than she’s letting on.”

“Fuck.” Drae paced the floor, his wings pinned behind him.

“She warned me about Felicity and her mates before I found out they were planning on poisoning us. I don’t know why,” I said, hardly believing the words coming from my mouth, “but I think Lady Veronica might be on our side.”

Blaze laughed. “Probably because she wants to join our bed.”

I folded my arms, shooting him a glare. “Not happening.”

“I know.” He sat beside me, holding me and kissing me hard. “You’re the only woman I want in my bed,” he murmured against my lips, the kiss ending before it started.

I sighed when he released me, my hand pressed against his hard chest while I got lost in his eyes that swirled with fire. How badly I wanted him and his brothers to fly me up to the bed and shut out the rest of the world.

One corner of Drae’s mouth hitched up in a subtle smirk. “Any other secrets you’re keeping from us?”

“Well,” I said with a smile in my voice as he took my hand in his, “there is this thing I was going to try with my tongue later tonight.”

“Mm,” Blaze purred in my ear, his hands roving my waist and back. “Maybe not if we’re glued to our chamber pots.”

I looked from one mate to the other. “What do we do about that?”

Drae jumped to his feet, dragging his hands through his long, thick hair with a groan. “We go have drinks with them.”

“And risk getting sick?” I asked.

Drae and Blaze shared a look, and I knew they had something nefarious in mind.

“And switch drinks,” Drae said with a wink.

“How?”

Blaze draped a wing over my shoulder, the tips of his feathers tickling my thighs. “Leave it to Drae and me. We’ll either slow or speed time, and they’ll never know.”

“Hm.” I gnawed on my lip, worried they’d suspect us, or worse, they’d trick us, and we’d become far too intimate with our chamber pots.

“No,” Drae said. “Shiri will make them drink our wine.”

Trepidation twisted my gut. “You want me to use my siren on them?”

He turned up his chin, flashing a devious smile. “I want you to teach them what happens when you cross a white witch.”

Warmth flushed my chest at the pride reflecting in his eyes, and I knew I couldn’t refuse my mate.

Nikkos jumped from his seat and knelt in front of me, sparks dancing in his eyes. “Now about that tongue thing you mentioned.”

I rolled my eyes. My mates were insatiable. Then again, so was I, because I didn’t fight them when they peeled off my clothes and flew me up to our big bed suspended in the air. They rocked me in that giant hammock until we were all sated and spent and long shadows fell across our bedchamber floor, indicating it was almost time to spend another nightmarish evening in Malvolia’s court of madness.
