“Oh, God. Soooooo funny,” she laughed while turning in my arms to wrap her arms around my waist. “Did you see his face, Bradley? I said it exactly like you told me to,” she giggled into my chest.
My eyes darted up to see him red-faced and laughing. “You bastard,” I muttered at him before looking back at Kat. “And you… I think my heart stopped beating for a solid minute there. You can’t joke with me like that. Not now.”
She looked up at me and batted her eyelashes. “Yes, sir. Whatever you say, sir!” She purred.
Fuck. Kat couldn’t talk to me like that. Now I wanted to tie her up and watch her beg and call me Sir.
Chapter 7
Katie’s POV
I woke up feeling like my heart was crushed. Kai and I talked for hours last night. We talked about all of the things we did to sabotage the other’s relationships, and laughed about how blind and stupid we were. I had had no relationships and he was an idiot.
But then this morning, I woke up and felt like maybe it was my wishful thinking. Kai had so many girls and never paid any attention to me. Was he with me because he thought I was easy?
He obviously didn’t know that I was a virgin, so that said enough about what he thought of me before last night. I needed to call Andie. I needed my girl. I couldn’t talk to any of my guy friends about this.
I didn’t even know what time it was. I had been lying here staring at the ceiling for who knew how long. I rolled over to grab my phone and winced.
My legs, my abs, my….were all feeling it. No one told me my legs would feel like I had done a work out. Oh my god. I had sex.
I, Katie Renee Preston, had sex last night. WITH KAI!! Oh my god. I had UNPROTECTED sex with Kai. Shit.
I called Andie. It was almost ten o’clock in the morning, but I knew she had off today.
She answered on the fourth ring. “So, how’d it go?”
“I don’t have time to explain. This is an emergency. Come get me, I need you!” I said as dramatically as I felt.
Of course, Andie immediately understood. “You have five minutes to have your ass outside. I already grabbed coffee and we can run to the pharmacy near my place.”
“Shit! Andie, I need to shower!” I yelled.
This of course only spurred her laughter. “What happened to my neat nick, Katidid?!? You lost your cherry in a barn, and you didn’t even shower when you got home?!?” She squealed through the phone.
I just groaned. “I know. Just give me fifteen, ok?”
Andie laughed, “Yeah, I figured as much. That’s why I bought coffee for your dad, too. I’ll be downstairs when you are ready.”
I hung up and jumped out of bed. Well, attempted to. My girlie bits were a bit tender and I felt it when I sat up. I ran to the bathroom and jumped in the shower.
Thirteen minutes later I was showered dressed and walking down the stairs. I didn’t have time to dry my hair, so it was twisted up into a bun on top of my head.
I didn’t wear any make-up, because honestly, I couldn’t be bothered today.
“There she is!” My mom called from the kitchen as I came through the house.
Andie looked at me like she was going to burst. She just wanted gossip, and I was surprised she didn’t tell my parents everything.
My dad walked up to me and gave me a kiss on my temple as he walked by. “Morning, sweetie. What time did you get in last night?” He asked.
I couldn’t help but lean into the quick embrace. “Morning, daddy. I got in just before two. I’m sorry if I woke you up,” I apologized.
“No. We didn’t hear you, so we weren’t sure. I know that you are 18, but I appreciate that you still met the curfew,” he sighed and walked away.
I caught my mom looking over at me, and I couldn’t help but seem confused. I mouthed my question, ‘What did I miss?’
Mom shook her head and smiled. “We’re glad that you are still being responsible, and being safe,” she said.
