When she nodded, he allowed the grin to stretch his lips and leaned down to whisper, “You can teach me more moves later.”
A blush spread across her cheeks. She walked back into the home, but not before glancing back at him.
Chapter 8
Adrienne
He kissed her.
It had been hours before, yet her lips were still tingling, and she hid in her room like a coward.
She touched her lips and pulled her bottom lip. Her mouth felt no different than before except it did his kiss like a brand.
He kissed her like he wanted to keep her like he wanted to be the only one to kiss her. It had been possessive; it had been demanding and…hot.
Her heart was still racing when she reached her room, her hands shaking.
How could she attend a dance with him?
She wouldn’t be able to dance with him because her legs would be weak, and she’d have red cheeks.
Adrienne had never blushed so much in her life.
Every time he looked at her like he was expecting something from her.
She wanted to scream and shout at him, demanding to know what he wanted, yet she couldn’t.
At the end of the day, he was just finding his feet. He just wanted her to put the washing on or something.
No, he wanted something. It was the same thing all males wanted. Adrienne just happened to be within reach, and he had already, unfortunately, detected her arousal.
He picked her because she was easy. She just needed to make things clear.
Her breathing steadied and the flames on her cheeks died down. She looked down at her skirt and tank, then grimaced at the paint splatters. She needed to shower and change. Then try and tame her hair.
Stripping her clothes off, she threw them in a pile.
Adrienne was curious about one thing. The female that had visited the storage unit.
She thought she might know her, but then again, the chances of her visiting were slim. Would she really visit the storage unit?
Ren hadn’t so why should she?
Opening the wardrobe door, she stood naked and stared at the clothes on the hangers.
What did she wear, formal or casual? Did she want to impress Noah?
Groaning at her thoughts she slammed the door, then stood there shivering with no clothes.
Groaning she opened it again and took out one of the two longer dresses. It would come to her knees, cover everything modestly, and yet would still look pretty.
The dress dipped low in the back with a few holes along both sides of the material. A pale blue silk tie held it together with a dark blue bow in the middle.
The dress itself was a dark purple over her breasts that gradually faded to a light blue.
Adrienne didn’t know what tonight would be like. She had no idea what to expect. She had kept her nose out of the news. She had tried not to gossip or guess about Numbers.
She had always thought that if it was her, the last thing she would want was the spotlight. It was a big story so it was inevitable that she would hear snippets and impossible not to know about them, but she had never envisioned herself getting dolled up for a night out with a Number.
