The contents of my stomach threatened to come up, and I had to steady myself before my cousin told me he was finally coming out.
I mean, it made sense and all, but he didn’t seem at all gay for Jared.
“No. It’s complicated. I’m gonna wait outside. I’ll text you the address.”
I dragged my phone out, dialing one of our drivers, who always came to me when I was intoxicated.
Benny was a good man and never told my dad the shit I got into. Of course, he told my mom, but that was okay.
I inhaled in through the nose and out through the mouth before the shiny black car arrived.
“Thanks, Benny, I owe you. Or rather, Chase does.”
Before sinking my head back, I gave him the address, remembering Kendra’s naked body under the sheets.
God, I was going to kill Chase.
I didn’t even get a morning fuck.
The car rolled up beside the house that belonged to the opposing team’s quarterback, and I texted Chase to see him run across the road, climbing into the seat beside me.
He looked like he hadn’t slept a wink, and I squinted at him through one eye before directing the driver back to my house.
“So, you and Jared—”
“This is your fault!” Chase declared as my head began to throb.
“What is? You being gay?” I yawned, trying to relax in the seat as best as I could.
“What? I’m not gay, you fool. I ended up in a shitty situation.”
I peered at Chase then, struggling to focus on him.
“What the fuck happened?”
“The girl from the fair? She’s called Heather, and she doesn’t have a boyfriend,” Chase snapped, pushing his hair back.
I stared at him for a moment before it dawned on me.
“Are you telling me you fucked Heather at Jared’s house?” I demanded, wanting to punch him square in the jaw.
Chase glared at me before rolling his eyes.
“Well, no. Not exactly.”
“What do you mean, not exactly? Either you fucked her, or you didn’t.” I barked, now fucked off.
If Chase had banged that hot blonde, I was going to be pissed.
“We crossed each other on the stairs at the party. These creeps were following her, and it seemed shady as fuck. So she kissed me, one of those, pretend you’re my boyfriend sort of things.”
“Where the fuck was I?!” I groaned, resting my head back.
“Playing a party game, dear.”
“Wait, so how come you ended up at Herrod’s house?”
Chase grimaced then, and I lifted an eyebrow inquisitively.
