"Rayna. Her name is Rayna," Chase said flatly, oblivious to the trio of girls that were eyeing us up from the arrivals lounge.

Endless legs and tiny shorts, white teeth, and killer tans.

What better place to get over someone?

"Look, fuck it. Let's drop our shit off and go and get fucked up. Night one, and we start as we mean to continue."

"We need to stop by a store and get some stuff," Chase yawned, tapping away at his phone.

I almost slapped him on the back of the head when he started mumbling about toothpaste and coffee. He was back to sad-sack Chase.

"Maybe tomorrow, Grandma. Tonight we are getting laid."

Chase ignored me, continuing to make a list on his phone.

I closed my eyes, leaning my head back. I didn't understand Rayna, and I hoped Chase fucked her off so far he didn't even remember her name.

"Not even a text," Chase grumbled.

"There's my suitcase," I declared, taking Chase’s phone out of his hand. "I'm having this."

"Rafe, don't be a dick!"

"I'd rather be a dick than you."

I dragged my bag off, knowing the girls in arrivals were watching me intently. I hoped they were students, and hopefully, sisters.

"Come on, let's get a cab."

We joined the line for the cabs, and unsurprisingly the girls followed us, giggling to themselves.

"Are you guys going to UCLA?" The smallest one asked with a scarily deep voice.

I decided that I couldn't entertain that and shifted my attention to the middle girl. She reminded me of Kendra, and I pondered whether it would be a wise choice to get a vasectomy. The last thing I wanted was baby Rafes.

The world wasn't ready.

"Maybe we are. What's the information worth?" I smirked as Chase swiped his phone back from my pocket.

"My number?" Deep Voice chirped, and I inwardly shuddered.

"Or maybe you could come to a party tonight?"

I glanced at the third girl, deciding up close; none of these girls were doing it for me. I still gave them my number, and they promised to send me the address.

Chase had his back to us throughout, and I noticed he was back to making grocery shopping lists.

"Chase, come on. Any of them would've been doable," I lied as he shook his head.

"I'm not fucking interested, Rafe. Just leave it."

"Hey, don't take it out on me. I didn't leave you," I scoffed, moving forward with the line. "I get it. You love Rayna. But if she loved you, would she have just fucked off like that? What is it about her, man?"

"I don't have a choice, Rafe. If it's not her, I don't want anyone." Chase shrugged, and I groaned.

"There's so many—"

His look cut me off, and I decided to give up.
