Page 13 of Running Winter

Chase adored Raven, as did everyone in our family.

“You know, brother,” Raven continued, walking towards the coffee machine by the wall.

Instantly Chase and I were putting our orders in, and she rolled her eyes.

“If Dad’s predictions are correct, this hot dick sucker may well be your baby momma. Maybe you should aim a little higher with your women.”

“Raven, I love you, but if I hear the word ‘dick’ come out of your mouth again, I will drown you in the swimming pool.”

The voice that boomed from the doorway made the three of us exchange looks as Dad walked into the room.

“Sorry, Daddy,” Raven purred as he kissed her head softly.

Then, he turned his gaze to me, and his expression hardened.

“Is this the same girl you end up with after every night out?”

Chase snorted with laughter, and Dad raised an eyebrow in his direction, silencing him immediately.

“Rafe?” Dad murmured, leaning on the counter as he examined me.

Raven pushed three coffees onto the table, followed by cream and sugar. The two of us drank like vultures as Dad watched with amusement.

“Yes. But—”

“Invite her for dinner,” Dad commanded, and I screwed my face up.

Chase shook with stifled laughter, his face turning puce.

“No fucking way.”

Dad picked his phone up and made a call as I stared at him in horror.

What is he doing?

“Benny. The address you picked my son up from? Is it the same one as the last few times?”

I’m stunned. Surely Benny wouldn’t drop me in the shit.

“Can you get me the girl’s name and contact details?”

“Dad, no. Seriously, she is clingy as fuck—” I howled as Chase almost spat coffee over the table.

Dad ended the call, winking at me.

“I want to see the girl that has you begging for more after every damn time. She must be quite the girl.”

“She’s clingy, and if she comes around here, she’ll think we’re a fucking item!” I roared, seething with anger.

My head banged, and Dad, the bastard, simply lifted his coffee to his lips with a smirk.

“MOM!”
