"Hey, as long as you can touch your toes—"
Heather laughed then and forgot about the others.
Raven couldn't tear her eyes away from Heather and her brother.
"Talk to me, baby," Leigh whispered in her ear, calming her senses instantly.
"I don't know what it is. I just...don't trust Heather."
Leigh sighed, turning Raven to meet his eyes. She pouted when he pulled her close to him.
"Down, girl. Relax."
"But—"
"Raven. It's been a long-ass four years, darling. So just let your hair down tonight, hey?"
Raven relented slightly, but not before she caught Chase smiling at Heather and Rafe, raising a glass in their direction.
Rayna was pissed, too, by the looks of it.
It seemed that Heather didn't have too many fans.
"Fuck, that means she said yes." Rayna scowled as Chase rolled his eyes.
"What is your problem, Ray? Are you jealous he asked her before I asked you?" Chase teased as he drank his beer.
"No. I'm pissed that Rafe entertains the one girl that you have both shared," Rayna retorted.
Chase threw his head back with exasperation before staring at his girlfriend.
He loved her, but she was jealous and possessive on a level he had never come across before.
It was difficult to constantly prove to her that it was always her and still was.
"We didn't share her, Rayna," Chase groaned, turning to gaze at Rayna. "It was years ago. Come on, beautiful. Come here."
Rayna allowed him to pull her into his arms, and she caught her brother's eye.
The two of them smiled, and Leigh winked at her reassuringly.
He seemed to know what she was thinking most of the time, and it was nice to know he was there for her after so many years apart.
It wasn't often that they came together like this, but Rafe had insisted.
One thing that was important to the Deacons and the Fallons was family. The entire family welcomed Rayna, Leigh, and Heather with open arms, albeit with a few reservations that some reserved for others.
They would have to get over it.
Because after all, you can't help who you fall in love with.
