I laid back on my bed, still tired from last night. My phone buzzed beside me, and I placed my bets on it being Rayna.

Wrong.

Heather:

What the fuck? No, I didn't kiss you for a bet or to get you into shit with your little buddy. Sam is my cousin-not by blood-but that's just how we are! How dare you judge me?!

Oh. Now I feel terrible.

Chase:

I apologize. I just didn't get it, okay? Let me make it up to you somehow.

Heather:

No thanks.

Chase:

Okay, well, I'm sorry.

Heather:

You’re giving up just like that?

Jesus, this girl.

I wasn't sure what to suggest, especially when I needed to know what Rafe felt for her. Finally, I decided to go out on a limb.

Chase:

Let my cousin take you out. He will treat you like a princess, I swear. He is the one that gave you the Flamingo Teddy.

Heather:

No. You take me out.

Shiiiiiiiit.

Chase:

Me? OK, where do you want to go?

Heather:

Drinking, dancing. That kind of thing. Tonight?

She had to be joking; I was still half asleep from last night. But then again, I had accused her of lying, and that was pretty shitty.

So I groaned, sat up, and called Rafe.

"Yo, you alright?" he answered.

I gripped the phone, trying to ignore the happiness in his voice.

What the fuck?

"Yeah, I just want to talk to you about Heather."
