So Rayna didn't like Chase?
I mean, she said she only saw him as a friend, but I just assumed that was to hide the fact she was secretly obsessed with him or something.
“Rayna isn’t into you?" Pops checked, rubbing his chin thoughtfully before Chase shrugged.
"Honestly, I think she’s great. But we are just friends."
"And you think this Heather girl may have set you up?" Pops asked.
I scowled.
If I find out she has—
"I dunno. Why would Heather be all over me like that and begging me to take her home—"
"For fucks sake, she chose the wrong cousin," I grumbled, wishing it had been me. If Heather had set me up, at least I could’ve banged her.
Chase glared at me as Pops smiled.
"Why do you look like you've got it all figured out, old man?" I demanded as he got up, ruffling my hair playfully.
"Because I have. Come help set the table."
"Yes, Sir." I mocked a salute as Chase got up. "Chase. We cool?"
Chase looked back at me, nodding.
"Always, brother."
Good. Now I needed to find out what game Heather was playing.

"So tonight, I thought if you're free—" I began before I was rudely interrupted.
"Fallon!"
I inwardly sighed as Rayna grinned behind me.
Rafe draped his arm around my shoulders, smiling widely at Rayna.
"Isn't Chase a good-looking bastard? Hmm?" Rafe purred, gripping my jaw.
"What's up?" I asked thinly, folding my arms across my chest as Rafe turned to me.
He didn’t seem to be aware he had interrupted us at all.
"There's this club I wanna try. You coming, sweetcheeks?" Rafe said, directing his gaze at Rayna.
"A club? With you two?" Rayna laughed as I looked up at her.
I was going to suggest watching another Bond film at hers, but the thought of watching her flirt with Rafe was enough to put me off going. I was irritated that they seemed to have this bond over art because Rafe was different when sketching or shading.
He was calm and peaceful.
Which meant Rayna would have seen the side to him that would have appealed to her.
