"Wow. She is hot."
"Nothing in comparison to you, my love."
Rayna laughed then, and we danced, well, mainly she did, and I watched. Her body reacted to the music naturally.
"Oh, come on then, drinks," Rayna declared, lacing her fingers with mine as we made it to the bar. “I’m feeling a Slow Screw."
I frowned before she tapped the cocktail menu with a long black fingernail.
"Oh, I thought it was an invitation," I winked before ordering our drinks. I studied Rayna as she sipped her drink, and I tried to ignore the desire I was feeling for her.
"No, Fallon. Not from me."
God, she is hard work.
"So why didn't you fuck Heather?” Rayna asked, nodding over to the dance floor.
I shrugged before gazing at her.
"Fuck knows. So you and Rafe…."
Rayna rolled her eyes before gripping my jaw with her fingers.
"When I'm with you, you ask about him. When I'm with him, he asks about you. Why do you think you're my only two options? Has it ever occurred to you that I may not want either of you?"
I felt like she had slapped me, but the alcohol took away the sting a little.

"You do indeed. Looks like Rafe has her covered," Rayna drawled, nodding towards the side of the dance-floor where Rafe was standing, his hands on Heather's waist as she gazed up at him.
Wow.
"Well, thank fuck for that.” I laughed, clinking my glass with Rayna’s. "I can relax now."
"Are you sure you're not gay, Chase?" Rayna smirked, nudging me playfully.
I lifted my whiskey to my lips, taking a long sip as I gazed at Rayna. My eyes moved slowly down her tight little dress before I shook my head slightly.
"Nah."
Rayna leaned closer to me.
"Then prove it. Pick any girl here, and prove that you find girls attractive."
Her tone was playful, but there was something else.
It was a challenge.
"You want me to kiss a girl? To prove I'm not into men? Come now, Rayna. You're more mature than that," I said softly, my hand swirling the liquid in my glass as I studied her.
"Oh, just do it," Rayna snapped, waving her arms around the room. “Kiss someone."
I was genuinely perplexed. If I kissed someone else, I'd hate it. If I kissed her, though—
