Maybe.
BREAKFAST
C H A S E
I knew Rafe had his Saturday mornings free now, so I decided to surprise him with a greasy McDonald's breakfast.
Rayna had suggested it, as she was worried about Rafe resenting her for the amount of time she and I were spending together. Also, she wanted to see Leigh, and he would more than likely be there as he was now he Raven's bodyguard.
Aunt Alice on her way out when we arrived, and she waved to us as she passed us.
"Morning Chase, Rayna. Are you both okay?" Alice smiled, oversized sunglasses hiding her face.
"Yeah, we're great." I grinned as she tossed me the house keys.
"Wake him up, the lazy slob. How he is still asleep is beyond me."
"Will do, Aunt A," I chuckled before we parted ways.
Lucas was out of town on business, so I knew Rafe would be alone.
Parking my car before heading to the door, I found Rayna holding all of the food, and I backtracked to relieve her of the bags.
Rafe was a deep sleeper, so I intended to wake him up brutally.
I'd brought along a megaphone I'd found lying around in my garage, probably one of my Dad's old ones from work.
Rayna smiled at me playfully, and I leaned over to kiss her softly on the mouth.
I still couldn't believe she finally saw me the way I'd always wanted her to; it was just a headfuck that I was going to have to leave to go to Cali soon. But we could do long-distance, surely.
We made our way upstairs, and Rayna hung back, laughing as I sent her a wicked smile.
I opened the door quietly, lifting the megaphone to my mouth as I roared into it.
"FBI hands up!"
Rafe dived out of bed, his eyes bleary from sleep as he hissed at me.
"What the fuck Fallon?!"
I laughed so hard I didn't see the girl standing beside the bed, Rafe’s bedsheet clinging to her naked form. The laughter died on my lips as Rayna gripped my arm tightly, her hand over her mouth.
"Shit, shit! I didn’t know—" I began, as my eyes focused back on the girl. "I'm sorry—wait, Heather?"
Rayna's eyes narrowed at the name, her icy gaze sweeping over the naked blonde bombshell beside the bed.
"Morning, Chase. Thanks for that." Heather laughed awkwardly, sending a bemused look to a very pissed Rafe.
"Out!" Rafe commanded, and I backed away, wondering how the fuck Heather had managed to convince Rafe to let her stay the night.
Rafe didn’t bring girls home.
Ever.
Unless he liked her…
My head swam as Rafe pushed us out, slamming the door shut in my face.
