“Yes.” I kiss her forehead.

“Good. I like you taking care of me like that.”

I laugh. “I want to take care of you in all ways, princess. I love you.”

“Love you.” I can’t stop saying it. And Mara’s asleep in seconds, while I’m wide awake, feeling satisfied and happy in every part of me.

This woman makes me so happy. I can’t wait to have more scenes with her and come up with even more ways to take her by surprise.

“Idon’t know if I like her calling you at a moment’s notice,” Evan grumbles as he parks outside of Steff’s building.

“She’s Steff Goldstein. If she calls and asks me if I can make her a floral sculpture with a two-hour deadline, I’m going to do it. You’re just mad our lazy morning got interrupted.”

“Well, yeah.” Evan flashes me that smile that makes my pulse race. “You need to take off more mornings.”

“I’ll make this one up to you. Are you coming in?”

“Yep. There’s Steff. I need to help her with that.” Evan gets out of the car and rushes over to Steff, who is wheeling a cart that’s stacked high with stuff and it looks like it’s going to topple.

I reach for my to-go cup of coffee and take a sip, trying to centre myself to go and work. My body is still kind of sore from that takedown scene.

Evan and I stayed in bed till almost noon, having slow, languid sex, and I tried to get more details of his birthday bash from him.

“It’s a party.”

“Is it at Sinful Bites?”

“Yes.”

“Do you play in front of your brothers?” The idea kind of horrified me, that I’d be meeting his brothers for the first time and end up half clothed or without clothes on at all.

He’d kissed my mouth. “No. Guests are welcome to play in the dining room, it’ll be set up as a dungeon just like it was when you first came to Sinful Bites and I guess if my brothers wanted to. I know Hunter and Theo won’t play. I was thinking of taking you to Shivers after dinner. If we don’t do it for my birthday, I want to take you soon. You need to meet Nevie and Griffin. Everything I learned about BDSM and kink, I learned from them.”

“Then I definitely need to meet them.” I kissed him back, long and slow, and couldn’t believe how much had changed since I had come to Sinful Bites with my former bosses that night.

Steff had called me as we’d just finished our shower, asking if I could make a sculpture for a special client of hers and I’m not going to say no.

Just because Evan has made my life easier, it doesn’t mean I’m going to stop taking every opportunity that comes my way.

I watch Evan, helping Steff steady the pile of stuff, makes me all fluttery.

I can’t believe this man loves me and we’re together. I can see a future with Evan.

As I open the door, I run my inventory through my head and I know I am going to need another cooler in the space. With the business Wendy has brought me, it’s not going to be hard to achieve.

“Hi Mara! Thanks for coming in. I have a picture of what I’d like.”

“You’re welcome.” I close the door and follow behind them.

“Leave it there, Evan, thanks,” Steff says and almost trips over the cart.

I hide my smile as I open the door to the studio.

“Thanks.”

He hadn’t been in for a while and my stomach twists into a nervous knot as he circles the room, looking at the mural.
