“Hi!”

“She is adorable, Skylar,” Xora complimented, likely thinking about Serenity one day being Cam’s age.

“Thank you.”

“Where is Gianni and Tyson?” My mom asked.

“I’m sure they’ll be here soon,” I assured them because neither of them was missing a meal.

“Come on, Cam,” Skylar extended her hand, but Cam had other plans.

“I want to help.”

“Go ahead. She’s fine,” My mom offered, but Skylar was skeptical. Not because of my mother, but after Sophia’s comment, she didn’t want Cam out of her sight, but she was safe.

Tugging Skylar’s hand, she followed me to the living room.

“What the fuck is her problem?” Sky asked.

“That’s just Sophia. Always got some hating shit to say because she’s unhappy.”

“Why is she unhappy?”

“That’s family business. Are you family, Sky?” I asked, kissing her shoulder.

“What does being family mean, Macklen?”

“Simple. Being my lady.” She dipped her chin enough to watch my lips touch her skin. “Letting me love you and Cam.” I slipped my finger inside her shirt, gently stroking her cleavage.

She tucked her bottom lip, staring out the oversized window in the living room before shifting toward me.

“Yes.”

“It’s not enough to say it, Sky. I need you to do that shit.”

“I said yes.” Inside I was jumping up and down. I had never wanted anything more in my life than Sky and Cam. Thankfully it only manifested in a smirk, “Just be patient with me.”

“Anything for you.”

“Ugh, get a room.” Hailo joked, entering the living room and holding Serenity.

“Ohh, give her here!” Sky got so excited, holding her hands out.

“You better enjoy it because once Xora sees her, nobody else is getting a turn,” Hailo replied, handing her over.

“What was said about my mama?” Gi asked playfully, grabbing Hailo by the neck, but I knew that was nothing but a reason to touch her.

“About time. Where’s Tyson?” My father asked, joining us in the living room.

“I didn’t know you were bringing company to dinner,” Lucas followed, attempting to make conversation I had no interest in.

“It’s none of your business,” I replied, not sugar-coating shit.

Sky’s voice cut through the dense awkwardness. “I’m going to check on Cam,” Hailo didn’t hesitate to follow her out of the room, leaving only us men.

“Macklen,” My father’s voice was stern yet sympathetic because everything I learned about being a man and love was from him. He would’ve burned this city down and anybody in his behind my mother. I felt the same about Sky.

“It’s okay, Everett.” Lucas slid his hands into his pockets before turning to leave the room. My father wanted to say something but didn’t and followed Lucas out of the living room.
