Page 22 of Indulge

Following his instructions, I picked up a piece of cheese and held it to his lips. He opened his mouth and sucked it in.

He nodded to the plate and I knew he wanted me to eat as well.

After a few bites, he asked, “Did you enjoy yourself today?”

Of course, my thoughts went right to all the sexual stuff and I blushed.

Logan chuckled. “I wasn’t only talking about all the masturbating you did, but...”

I knew I had to be beet red. “Yes.”

“I can’t wait to see you in that black and white dress again. It’s going to send my imagination into overdrive... remembering today.”

I fed us each another piece of fruit. “Yeah, today’s going to be hard to forget.”

“Hopefully impossible to forget.”

Smiling, I took a sip of my wine. Impossible was right. Logan had certainly made this day one I would always remember.

We worked our way through the fruit and cheese while each enjoying a glass of wine. The only time Logan took his hand off my leg was to take a drink.

Done with the food, Logan set the plate on the coffee table, but made no move to get up. He rested his hand near my knee and used his other to twirl a lock of my hair around his finger. We were staring in each other’s eyes when my cell phone rang.

“Are you expecting a call?” he asked, freezing in place.

“No. Everyone knew we were going away for the weekend.”

“You’d better answer it, then. It might be important.”

I doubted it was, but it was one of those things where it was better to be safe than sorry.

Racing up the stairs, I went to get my cell phone out of my purse. When I saw the caller ID, I sighed and hoped this wasn’t the type of call I thought it was. “Hello?”

My sister’s voice came through the line. “Lily?”

“Yeah, it’s me. Is everything okay?”

“I don’t know. You tell me.”

I sighed. “Nicole, I’m fine. Trying to enjoy a romantic evening with Logan and you’re interrupting.”

“Oh.” Nicole caught Logan and me playing once and ever since she had been convinced he was going to hurt me. She also wouldn’t allow herself to be alone with him. I was trying to be patient and soothe things over between them, but so far I hadn’t made much progress.

“Logan’s good to me. He doesn’t do anything to me that I don’t want him to.”

She didn’t respond.

“Look, Nicole, I need to go. Logan’s downstairs waiting on me. We’ll be back home tomorrow night. I can call you and we can talk then if you want.”

“Yeah. Okay. That sounds good. Call me when you get home.” I could tell by her tone that in her mind my calling her was more to let her know I had made it back safe than anything else.

“Goodbye, Nicole.”

“’Bye.”

“Everything okay?” Logan asked from behind me.

I turned to find him standing halfway up the stairs. “Yeah. She was just worried about me and wanted to check in.”
