“You fuckingdick!”I growled, slamming my fist straight into his face as he fell to the ground.
“Logan, stop!” Ellie shrieked, her fingers clawing at my back as I hit him again, causing blood to spurt from his nose.
“Itoldyou not to touch mysister!” I barked, moving back as he struggled to stand. “Does she know you’re still fucking everything that moves?”
Raff glared at me as he wiped his nose with the back of his hand, and I felt Jessica’s arms wrap around my waist, her very touch calming me.
“Logan, you’re such a dick!” Ellie cried, her eyes darting to Raff with concern. “Shit, I’m so sorry, Raff.”
He shook his head at her, closing his eyes as he stared at me.
“It’s not your fault. It’shis. What’s your problem, man? I told you, I like her!”
“Yeah?” I snapped, shoving him in the chest. “Who? Margot? Laura?Jenna?”
Ellie’s eyes widened, and Jessica reached out for her, murmuring her name. Raff had the grace to look ashamed, if only for a minute.
“You’re not interested in her anymore, so what does it matter?” Raff snapped as Ellie stared at him.
“You slept withJenna?”
“As in, hisex-girlfriend?Yeah. But it doesn’t mean shit!” He protested as Ellie shook her head sadly.
“This will be youforever, Raff. I’mdone.”
“Ellie, how can you say that? This isnotme forever. That kiss—”
“Meant nothing. I see that now. Logan, can we go?”
I moved my glare from my best friend to my sister, who had tears streaming down her face.
Ellienevercried.
The last time she did was when Dad died.Is this really that fucking bad?
“Stay away from my sister,” I warned, pointing at Raff as we walked away. “Or next time, Iwon’tstop.”
“Some best friend you are!” He called after me as I put my arm around Ellie’s shoulders, tugging both girls into my arms as we walked away.
“I’m sorry, El,” I mumbled, unsure what I was apologising for.
“It’s okay.” She sniffed, and Jessica squeezed her hand.
“You’re beautiful, don’t cry.”
I led the girls out of the party, still trembling with anger.
Jessica wouldn’t let go of my hand, and the entire taxi ride back, she tried to calm Ellie, who didn’t respond.
I don’t know whether to apologise again or not, but something in Jessica’s eyes warns me not to.
And I’m whipped by those eyes.
I’m in love, yet I’ve just lost my best friend and hurt my sister.
What a guy.
