Page 60 of His Lucky Babygirl

Wes chuckled. “A headstone is fitting.” He pulled off her shoes, taking them over to the vanity and tucking them in a corner. Wes’ shoes joined hers and he popped the button to his jeans open, tugging the tails to his shirt loose.

“She likes to call it a graveyard.” Wes joined her on the edge of the bed. “What are you doing?”

“Just relax. We’ve done videos before.” His voice held more than a hint of amusement. “Hopefully you have enough battery left.”

Of course, he was amused at her expense.

Yeah, except they weren’t going to her ex!

Melody giggled nervously. She knew her face was red, she was already flushed. The tips of her ears were hot.

“Crawl to the headboard.”

Still stunned silent, she obeyed quickly. Leaning her back against the plush quilted headboard, she pressed her knees together and curled them toward her chest.

Melody tracked his movements and marveled at how graceful he looked stalking over the bed to consume her.

“Hey.”

“Hmm.”

Wes grabbed her chin and kissed her soundly, deepening the kiss until she grew soft beneath him. Her legs finally relaxed. “That’s my girl.” His thumb brushed over her bottom lip.

He picked up her phone, unlocked it, and swiped ‘redial’ on the last incoming call.

Anxiety filled Melody’s belly and her eyes darted around the room as if there’d be any way out of this. Once Wes made his mind up, there was no changing it or going back.

“Oh, hummingbird! I knew you couldn’t stay away.”

Her stomach twisted sickly at the sound of his voice.

“Try again.”

“Who the fuck is this?”

“This is the man that’s telling you to leave Melody alone.”

“Yeah? What the fuck of it?”

“Jason. This is just a polite reminder that she hates when anyone calls her that name. You are also no longer allowed to contact her for any reason what-so-ever including conversations concerning the money you stole by using her credit. If you need to discuss something, you can contact me directly.”

“Who the fuck are you? Where’s my girlfriend?”

“Girlfriend?!” They balked together.

“Melody!?”

“What?” Melody closed her eyes anticipating the backlash.

“Are you okay?! Is someone creeping you? Who the fuck is that dude? I told you about watching where you were. That place is disgusting. I’m coming to get you.”

The agitation grew by the moment.

“You’re not safe.”

Melody’s restraint snapped and she took the phone from Wes. With the press of a few buttons she could see herself reflected in the phone as the video call connected.

“Babes!”
