Chapter One

“It was thirty seconds and it was over,” Maya called over her shoulder as she walked out of the house, her hips swinging.

“It was forty-five,” Jackson yelled back as he followed her onto the driveway.

Their argument had been going on for the past twenty minutes, and they were loud enough for Kane and Alex, Jackson ex-combat brothers, to come out of their houses to see what was happening.

‘What the hell?” Alex said, “Some of us are trying to sleep.”

Jackson spun towards Alex and poked a finger at him “Stay out of this. This is none of your business.”

“Are you good Maya,” Sarah called out to the raven-haired women standing in front of Jackson, her hands firmly on her ample hips.

“None of your business either.” Maya said, not breaking eye contact from Jackson.

“Should we stop them?” Sarah asked as she stepped next to Kane, his arm pulling her closer as he chuckled.

“Nope. But I’m betting Maya wins this one.” He said as he placed a kiss on Sarah’s forehead. “This reminds me of our courtship. All spit and fire.”

“I think I started a few fights just for the makeup sex in the end,” Sarah grinned as they watched Jackson and Maya circle one another.

“I don’t know,” Alex said as he walked over to them. “Maya is only little, but she doesn’t back down from a fight.”

“Shut up you two,” Jackson said as he ran a hand over his head, the movement making his biceps bulge as Sarah sighed. “Isn’t he pretty,” she whispered to Kane as he bristled beside her.

Kane growled at her. “You’re not going to make me fight with you today, Sarah. I have things planned for you.” Kane looked up as Jackson continued to argue with Maya.

‘It was forty-five seconds and it rocked your world,” Jackson said, flexing his large frame.

“You know, for someone with a mind for numbers, you sure have exaggerated this time.” Maya said laughing, breaking their tension. “And baby, it was only thirty seconds, but it was heaven.”.

“What the hell are you arguing over?” Kane asked shaking his head.

“Don’t you dare tell him Peaches,” Jackson said, wagging his finger at Maya again.

Maya turned to Kane. “How long Jackson lasted for his first-time having sex.” Maya grinned before glaring back at Jackson. “And stop calling me Peaches!”

Jackson groaned as Kane and Alex let out whoops of laughter.

“Thirty seconds brother. Bit eager there were you?” Kane laughed as he slapped Jackson on the shoulder.

“It was ten years ago for fucks sake. And it was forty-five seconds!”

“I hope you’ve increased your time now,” Alex said, “or is that why Maya is so angry with you now?”

“I am not having sex with Jackson Hart,” Maya said as pushed her glasses more firmly on her face. “I was just correcting him on some facts from our past.”

Jackson watched as Maya stormed off to her car, glaring at him as she opened the door.

“You’d be lucky to have sex with me again,” Jackson called out to her.

“Why? You up to a few minutes now?” Maya quipped as she shut the door and backed the car away.

“Bloody journalists,” Jackson grumbled as he turned back into his house. “Always have to have the last word.”

Chapter Two

“Did you get a quote from your source,” Maya’s boss asked as she stormed in.
