“We can do both then. You should see the town before you decide to move in here,” I say, and she smiles.

“Sounds good.”

I add the pancakes and a few strips of bacon to a plate and slide it in front of her.

“Let me know if you want more,” I tell her, and she nods.

She digs in, and I add more pancake batter to the pan. I pop a piece of bacon in my mouth and chew as I wait for my pancakes to be done.

In my head, I’m already making a plan for today. I have a whole day to convince Sophie that we’re meant to be together.

The full moon is tomorrow night, and I wonder if she can feel the connection between us. If she can, that bond is only going to get stronger as the full moon approaches.

I flip my pancakes and turn back to see that Sophie is already halfway finished with hers.

“Did you want some more?” I ask, and she shakes her head.

“No, this is more than enough. It’s very good. Do you like cooking?”

“A little. It can get kind of boring cooking just for myself sometimes.”

“You live here alone then?” She asks, and I can see that she’s fishing for information.

God, she’s so cute.

“Yeah, just me.”

“No girlfriend or anything?” She asks, clearing her throat, and I grin.

“Nope. What about you? Do you have a boyfriend?”

“Nope.”

We share a look, and I can’t hide my smile. She smiles back at me, and my wolf howls inside of me.

She wants us! Claim her, he orders.

I will. After I tell her about shifters and fated mates.

“Tell me more about yourself,” I say.

“Well, I just graduated with an accounting degree. I’m hoping to start working at a firm, though I haven’t interviewed anywhere yet.”

“There’s a small firm here in town. They do all of the businesses and a lot of the citizens’ finances and taxes,” I offer, and she grins.

“Are they hiring?”

“Yep.”

“Hmm.”

She eats the last bite of her pancakes, and I add mine to a plate. I pass her the plate of bacon, and she takes a piece.

“What else?” I ask as I dig into my food.

“Well, my favorite color is blue and my favorite season is fall. I hate being too hot. I love salty foods over sweets.”

“What’s your favorite food?” I ask.
