It seemed young to me from what I knew about humans.
"Not really. There was a woman who came to the school when I was fourteen. Some sort of seer. She said that I was…"
That pause and swallow again. I waited. I could see her warring with herself. I stayed quiet and tried to be patient. For her.
"Well, that I was fated to have a monster as a mate. And this is the path I should follow. It was all set in place for me."
She blushed as she said this, and turned her face away. My stomach flipped and a lightning bolt of excitement ran up my spine. She knew. She knew about mates. I leaned forward in my chair now.
"They explained to you about mates?"
"Yes. It is quite rare in humans to have a monster mate, apparently."
"Are you excited to meet your mate, Cerys?"
"I… I've never wanted a mate. It was terrifying for a young girl. To be mated to a monster. It made me an outcast. It changed everything."
I could see the pain in her eyes. She probably wasn’t meant to be telling me this. But she wasn't just my therapist, and she couldn’t change that. I never wanted her to feel pain though. The thought of her hurting was like a wound deep inside me. An ache that propelled me forward. I had to make her see that this was good. It was right. We were right. I was sure that if I could claim her, she would feel at peace. I stood and slowly moved towards her like I was trying not to spook a scared animal.
Chapter 7
Cerys
Cam loomed over me. My heart hammered and my whole body felt tense with anticipation. His eyes were burning with an intensity that made me shiver with fear. And excitement.
Burying feelings never helped anyone. I should know that.
My plan to push him away had failed spectacularly after moments in his presence. I wanted to hate what he had done, but I didn’t. I understood why he had done it. Maybe a part of me even admired it slightly.
He reached down for my hand and pulled me into a standing position. I didn't fight him. Whatever was happening felt impossible to stop. We were caught up in the universe's flow.
Cam leaned down and placed a large hand under my chin and tilted my head up, so I was looking him right in the face. It was a delicate move from a large monster. My body flooded with heat and my brain stuttered into silence. As his face leaned down to mine, my stomach was somersaulting. I didn't know if it was with excitement or to warn me I was doing something dangerous. I didn’t care. Want was the only thing left in me.
His lips met mine ever so gently. I raised my hands and placed them on his face. The fur felt soft, and it was a soothing texture that I could have stroked forever. Our lips moved together as though we had been kissing for years. Perfectly in sync. His lips led and claimed mine. Our mouths danced back and forth gently for a while. And then, the kiss grew into something more intense. More filled with want. It seemed to be the most natural thing in the world. Everything else in my life and my past fell away. I only needed this. There was nothing else that mattered.
His hands wandered down to my waist, and he pulled me tight against him. I could feel him hard and growing more against me. And continuing to grow. My mind completely short-circuited, and I froze.
"What is it?"
He peered at me, a frown on his face.
"Well. You errr, you know."
I couldn't find any words that made sense, so I stepped away and glanced down. My stomach flipped with fear at the exact same moment that my core flooded with heat. The largest cock I had ever seen was poking out of his loincloth now. Dark swirling ridges covered it with a slightly flared head. I pointed at it, unable to form any words.
"Yes, that is my cock."
Most monsters didn't really seem to have the same body hang-ups as humans do.
"Well, it's very, err, large."
That was an understatement.
"Thank you."
"Well. Okay then."
Yet again I was lost for words with Cam.
