“I can’t wait until you fall in love.” I don’t know why I say the words, but they fall out of me unrestrained.
“Bite your damn tongue,” she snarks at me.
Another gamma stumbles over to our table, excitement on her face. “Thea just matched with an alpha who has a pack. You will not believe who!” Her hazel eyes dart between Vee and me.
She doesn’t have to say anything else. I already know who, and the confirmation of her pairing gets shoved deep inside me where I hope it stays.
Forever.
Sin
“He had to take my damn earbuds and turn them into a fucking radio that I can’t use,” I hiss at the dripping water from the pipe. I’ve been crawling up at a slight angle for the last few hours. Water won’t answer me back. In fact, there is no one to answer me back. No one. They all disappeared! “They should all be thankful that I’d even consider biting and bonding them when this is all over.”
My pants get caught on yet another snag, and the rip is all I hear in the pipe. This is not the place to get a cut. Not at all.
“Oh, why don’t we tell the audience why that is, Sin?” I snark at myself because the audience is, in fact, just me. Me, myself, and fucking I! “Why? Because they all left me.”
Do I have attachment issues? Well, I didn’t think I did, but apparently, I do.
I left Sawyer, left her, and went in search of the two dingbats who thought they’d case the facility. What did I find? “Rumor, you slick bastard.” I shake my head and mutter under my breath. What I regret the most right now is not getting a haircut. I miss my mullet, and this shag is in my face, and I need to see ahead of me. “Seeing you push Bryn in front of a Jeep was amusing,” I admit out loud, circling back around to that slippery asshole.
I mean, I wouldn’t have minded pushing Bryn in front of something because he acts like a superhero, and I know what he does for the monarch—he kills people for money.
Although the shock on Bryn’s face was worth it, the guards did not hesitate to toss him into the vehicle after tasing him and knocking him unconscious.
Then Rumor rolled under the vehicle, and off they went, leaving us behind.
I’m going to make that bite hurt like hell.
By the time I got back to Sawyer, she was gone too, snatched up by more guards. I caught them loading her up, and then there I was, alone. All alone.
“I’m all alone.” Singing does not make me feel better. “Is that—” Pausing, I squint in the dark. “A light at the end of the tunnel of shit!”
Yes. I crawled my way into a tunnel that smells of sewage. An alpha has to do what an alpha has to do to get his pack back.
“As soon as I see my princess, I’m going to bite her.” There is no question that she’s my girl.
Therapy, drinking, and drugs didn’t help me get over Thea.
What did help me was the last couple of weeks and falling fast and furious for a sexy brunette with doe eyes and a resting bitch face that I love to watch morph into pleasure.
I haven’t had near enough sexy times with her, and all I want is a nest, all the takeout, and to be locked in her sweet juicy cunt while Rumor or Bryn rails my ass.
I shudder in the shit hole just from thinking about it. “Oh, oh.” Can’t flick my dick. “Down, you twitchy alpha monster.”
With no one around, I take matters into my own hands. It took me nearly two days to find this tunnel, and let’s be honest, I’m only hoping that it leads inside the hidey-hole in a mountain.
A shadow moves across the dim light, and I crawl like this is my first year alive until I’m at the edge and fresh air wafts to me.
I smell. No, I don’t just stink. I’m rotting from the outside in and a little from the inside out since I had to breathe all that bullshit in anyway.
There’s a grate that prevents me from spilling out of the pipe. Gripping the iron, I jiggle it until the whole thing pops off.
“What is the purpose of this damn thing?” I hiss.
“My guess is they forgot it existed.”
I squeak like a bitch in heat. Rumor’s chuckling face and those icy eyes look like the light at the end of this tunnel.
