Bypassing the elevators, I take the stairs to the ground floor and rush out into the afternoon sunlight toward Bryn, who is just walking up the steps.

I launch myself at him, giving my superman a second to react before he drops his phone and catches me. My legs hook around him, and the bag slaps his back.

“Hey, you.” He gazes down at me with his boyish smile. “How’d it go?”

“Take me home, Bryn,” I say breathlessly.

His face turns serious. “Sawyer?”

Leaning down, I brush my lips against the shell of his ear, not caring who sees me. “I need you. All of you are important to me. I’m ready if you’ll have me.”

For a moment, he just stands there, and I glance at the car, where Sin smiles like a lunatic. All at once, Bryn squats to grab his phone and carries me to the vehicle, where he sets me down.

Gripping my cheeks in his large palms, he checks my face for any sign that I’m screwing with him. “You’re ready.”

“Oh, thank the fates,” Sin interrupts, grabbing my hand and dragging me into the car, where I fall on his lap with a laugh. “Come here, princess.”

I toss the bag onto the other seat as Bryn shuts the door.

Everything falls away as Sin steals my breath with a kiss. It’s like coming home, and my body melts against his. Shifting until I kneel on the seat, I take over the kiss, ravishing him and chasing his tongue with mine.

Kissing Sin is an experience. It’s like sitting on a roller coaster—the cart rises higher and higher in the air, and then at the tippy top, when all that excitement peaks, you fall over the precipice and rush toward the earth.

He chases away all of my hesitations. My worry and the anguish I’ve felt over the last couple of months fall to the wayside, until it’s just us in the backseat of a car, while Rumor drives us home.

Home.

I pull away and pant. “I have a courting gift for you.”

“What?” Sin blinks his eyes open, hazy with lust.

I climb onto my seat because Rumor is driving as slow as molasses, and I want to get home. Buckling myself in, I grab the bag on the floor. “I have a courting gift for all of you.”

“Wait, that isn’t how this works, baby girl,” Rumor says, looking at me through the rearview mirror.

“Oh, but it is,” I counter.

“Us first.” Sin pouts.

“You got me a courting gift?” My face hurts from smiling. “What is it?” I’ve never been one for gifts, but this sends a thrill through me. Many omegas get frivolous things. However, I know my guys, and I doubt they took that route.

Bryn answers by turning in his seat to hand me a green folder. None of them say a word. Not one. Fingers shaking, I drop the bag in my lap and open the folder.

The first picture is a mug shot of Stefani. The second is of Doc.

Shock spirals through me, and tears burn my eyes. “Is this real?”

“Picked them up while you were in with Daisy,” Bryn says with a soft, reassuring voice.

A weight lifts entirely from my shoulders, and I clutch the folder to my chest. They knew. Somehow, they knew I still didn’t feel safe, that I needed this to move forward, and they gave it to me. “This is—” I sniffle.

“We know.” Sin reaches for my hand and threads his fingers through mine.

“Me next.” I drop the folder and grab the bag, pulling out the tonic. Before they can ask what it is, I rush out, “It’s to induce my heat.”

A breath whooshes out of Sin. “What?”

Rumor is just pulling into the driveway, and feeling the moment, I pop the top and chug the whole damn thing. Wiping my lips with the back of my hand, I tell them, “I was never getting my period. I was going into preheat.”
