“I’m about to go all territorial,” Sin grinds out. His lean body rolls off the couch, but his eyes remain glued to me. “Rumor, find any and all bugs.”
Rumor places a hand on Sin’s chest, halting him in his tracks. “Not here. Keep it together. We need to get her out. Now put your fucking shirt on.”
Sin’s emerald green eyes blaze with heat, and his nostrils flare as he glances at Rumor’s hand on his chest. “She’s perfuming.”
That’s all he says.
It’s a simple statement really, one that any alpha would say about his omega, and the way he grumbles and growls makes my blood heat even further. Inside, a part of me wants him to tear this room to shreds while fucking me until I can’t think.
A part of me almost allows myself to succumb to that.
A part of me demands I strip and beg and present my ass to them.
I’m no omega, and that snaps me out of the moment. All of this is wrong. “What the hell is happening?” My head thuds on the wall, and my eyes close. Ever so slowly, I breathe through my mouth and pinch my nose.
The men move around the room as I struggle to regain control.
“Sawyer.” Bryn steps close, too close, and although I can’t smell him, my body reacts. It lights up, and then I feel it.
My arousal soaks my panties and drips down my leg. Even breathing through my mouth, I can taste myself in the air.
Panic laces my veins as much as that elixir, and my heart skips several beats. “What is this?”
Bryn mimics Rumor’s earlier actions. His hands cup my face, almost to hold me close and far away at the same damn time. “The elixir was exactly as Stefani said it was. The problem lies with the fact that you are ours.”
My heart shatters.
I’ve waited my entire life to hear that, so much so that I worked damn hard to be someone extraordinary because I knew I’d never have a pack of my own.
Yet here he is, whispering words I’ve always wanted to hear, and the only thing I can say is, “No.”
“Safety first.” To his credit, he doesn’t allow my denial to get under his skin and doesn’t even show if it bothers him. “I need you to get dressed, and, Sawyer, don’t you dare take off that lingerie.” Leaning down, he whispers, “I want to take it off with my teeth later and lick every little drop of slick soaking the lace.”
I’m going to fucking combust.
“Dress,” he orders, walking away to get my clothing.
My head feels muddled and hazy, as though all I can concentrate on is fighting back the arousal riding me. Each brush of fabric over my flesh feels too restrictive as I drag my clothing on, slip my feet into my boots, and leave them untied. I can’t stand the thought of constraining even my feet.
I will never get to the vehicle without begging one of them to fuck me.
Bryn hands me my clothing and steps back, turning to Rumor. “How many?”
“Only two cameras.” Rumor tosses another one to the ground and smashes it beneath his boot. Still shirtless, he turns to the door. Looking over his shoulder, he commands, “Stand back.”
Power rolls off Rumor in waves, and his boot cracks against the door. One kick is all it takes, and the door shoots off its hinges and crashes against the far wall. Locks hang off the frame, dangling there. They are a reminder that Stefani played a dark game here tonight.
“Bryn, get the car.” Rumor tosses him the keys.
Bryn looks back at me, his lips rolling in as though he’s holding back from saying anything. His face wrinkles from the torture of leaving behind someone he deems as his—me.
“I’m okay. Go,” I assure him, but I have to feel it, and he doesn’t look convinced. Relenting, I look at Rumor and Sin, and calm washes over me. “I’m safe with them.”
Nodding, he takes off down the hall.
“We need to get you out of here.” Rumor walks over and grabs my hand.
The world feels as though it’s moving in slow motion. I roll into Rumor as he pauses at the threshold and glances out. A few people peek out their doors, their eyes wide and curious. Men and women, alphas and gammas.
