Sean wrapped his arms around her tiny figure and rocked her against him, letting her cry. When she finally pulled back from his chest, her nose was red, and her cheeks were tear-stained, but she was smiling.
“Thank you. I don’t know what I ever did to deserve you coming into my life.”
Her words settled into his chest, and he felt the same way about her. His life had been so meaningless and gray before her, and now she was lighting up his whole world. He knew it would be a long journey before Gabby trusted him and really gave herself to him entirely, but even if what she was giving him was all he could get from her, it was good enough for him.
“Gabby girl, you deserve everything. You deserve the sun, the moon, and all the stars, and I hope I can give you all of that and more. Now, let’s get you dressed. You’re shivering.”
Her nipples were erect, and she had goosebumps all along her arms. He wasn’t really sure if she was actually cold, but he needed to get her breasts covered up because otherwise, it would become more difficult not to wrap his lips around each nipple.
Sean set her on her feet and told her to put her hands on his shoulders for balance. When he leaned down to hold her panties near her feet, she stepped into them and he pulled the cotton material up her legs, settling them onto her hips. He hoped she wouldn’t notice his erection pressing against his jeans as he dressed her. He could control most of his actions, but unfortunately, he couldn’t control his cock.
“Arms up.”
Gabby lifted her arms, and he nearly groaned out loud as her small breasts lifted and practically presented her nipples to him. He quickly pulled the purple nightgown over her head and let it fall over her body. It wasn’t until she was fully dressed that he practically sighed with relief, although his cock wasn’t getting the message that she was dressed.
“Crawl into bed, and I’ll be right back.”
Sean went downstairs and prepared a vanilla nutrition shake for her, warming it slightly before pouring it into a baby bottle. He had been giving her a shake at lunch each day, but she needed as many calories and vitamins as she could get into her body. He walked back into her nursery, with the new book in one hand and the bottle in the other while Gabby watched with interest.
“Is that a bottle for me?”
He nodded, “Yes, baby girl. It’s a warmed-up nutritional shake. It will help you sleep.”
Instead of sitting on the edge of the bed like he had been during storytime the previous nights, Sean lay down next to her and pressed the nipple up to her lips. She opened her mouth immediately and began to suck in the liquid.
“Can you hold the bottle while I read you your story?”
She nodded and wrapped her hand around the bottle, taking it from him. He opened the storybook and began to read her the original Winnie-the-Pooh. When he finished the story and closed the book, he looked over at Gabby, who was fast asleep against him. Leaning down, Sean kissed the top of her head and pulled the empty bottle from her lips. She stirred briefly, but he placed Patches into her arms, and she sighed happily.
“Night, baby.”
“Night, Daddy,” she whispered.
He froze in place at her quiet words and felt a lump form in his throat. Daddy. Gabby’s Daddy. She was his, and he didn’t think he would ever be able to let her go.

GABBY
Gabby sat in Savannah’s office and talked about working at The Playground and how things were going at Sean’s house. Every time the woman asked Gabby about her life before coming to Seattle, she shut down until Savannah changed the subject. It wasn’t that she didn’t think that Savannah was a sweet and kind woman. It was more that Gabby didn’t want to think about her life before she met Sean.
Coming to Seattle had, so far, been the best thing that had ever happened to her. She had met Sean and he had been such a distraction from all the pain she’d experienced in her life that sometimes she almost felt normal. She had also pretty much forgotten the whole reason she’d come to Seattle in the first place. Okay, maybe not forgotten, but it didn’t seem quite as important anymore because she actually felt like she belonged somewhere now. And that somewhere was with her Daddy.
She reminded herself often that things with Sean were only temporary and that he wasn’t in love with her and she wasn’t in love with him, and it would never work between them. He was simply a nice man who was giving her a place to stay until she made enough money to afford her own home, and he was only her temporary Daddy, providing her with the experience of being someone’s Little.
Whenever she gave herself that reminder, though, her anxiety spiked, and she started panicking. She hadn’t had a panic attack since the day he had found her on the kitchen floor, and when she was in little space, she didn’t have any anxiety. However, when she was having grown-up thoughts, the anxiety and panic was still there, just below the surface, waiting to explode.
“Have you ever taken medication for your anxiety, Gabby?”
She looked up from the page she was coloring in Savannah’s office. There was an entire play area in one corner of her office, and she told Gabby they could have their sessions over there anytime she wanted and that she could color or play while they talked. Gabby liked that area much better than the couch and chairs and felt more at ease. At least she was when Savannah wasn’t asking questions that she didn’t want to answer.
Looking back down at her coloring page, Gabby shook her head but didn’t say anything. She had never been to a therapist, let alone a doctor, about her anxiety and panic attacks, and the thought of taking medication frightened her. She couldn’t even swallow pills.
“Gabby, I know talking about your past is difficult, but most of the time talking with someone has a lot of benefits and can make you feel a lot better.”
She wasn’t so sure it would make her feel better. Wasn’t the past better left in the past? Except that her past was the reason she was such a freak in the first place.
“If you don’t want to talk to me about it, what about talking to Sean? I’m sure he would love to listen and give you the care and support you need. Have you thought about talking to him?”
