When I spilled inside of her, she let out a sexy little sigh and gently raked her nails down my back. “Mmm, did that feel good, baby?” She squeezed my ass. “I like making you feel good.”
I rolled off of her and stared up at the ceiling. “That felt fantastic, K. Shit. I love you. I love you so much.” I glanced over at her and saw the sweet smile that spread across her face.
“Exactly how long have you loved me, J?” Kinley’s voice was soft, and she ran her fingers gently up and down my chest.
“Since kindergarten, K.”
She rolled into me, and I could feel her smiling against my chest. “And you never stopped? Even when I went boy-crazy in high school?”
“You broke my heart in high school and college like a hundred times, but no, I never fully stopped loving you.”
Kinley lifted her head and gazed into my eyes. “I didn’t know. I swear I didn’t know, but I am so sorry I hurt you. I will spend the rest of my damn life making it all feel better.” She pressed a soft kiss to my lips and gently ran her fingers through my hair. “You know, in middle school, I hated the attention I got for my body. Then in high school, I kind of embraced it and lost sight of what I wanted and what mattered.”
“What was that?”
“You.” Kinley burrowed her head into my chest and let out a contented sigh. “You’re my everything, J. You’re the dream guy that loves me perfectly. You’re the calm to my storm. You’re my safe place and my happy place. It took me a minute to realize that it’s always been you, but I see it now, so clearly.” She laughed. “You’re also apparently the best sex of my life.”
“Don’t tease me.” I laughed and kissed the top of her head. She still smelled like candy apples, and I knew I’d have to find her more of that lotion somewhere before she ran out.
“I’m not! You’re good in bed, baby!” She sat up, and a look of concern filled her face. “Jaxon, does it like, bother you a lot that I’ve been with so many guys?”
I answered without even thinking. “No. As long as I’m your last, then I don’t care who came before me.”
Kinley smiled and bit her lip. “You’re my last. You should have been my first, too, but you’re my last.” She looked down at her hands and then said, “You know I never thought I was good enough for you, right? That was why I never went for you. And then after high school, I was already branded as Kinky Kinley, and I didn’t think you’d touch me with a ten-foot pole.”
I sat up and took her hand. “Then I should have gone for you. Kinley, I hated every asshole that touched you, but none of it ever made me think less of you.”
Kinley lifted my hand to her lips and pressed a soft kiss against my palm. “You’ve always seen me, haven’t you? Like, the real me.”
I nodded.
“I see you, too, J.”

The next morning, Jaxon set up a little makeshift office for me in the guest room so I could finish editing all of my pictures. “This room has the best view of the city,” he said, sliding his comfy office chair up to the desk in front of the window. “Do you need anything else before I head to work?”
I threw my head back and laughed. “You mean, besides the place to stay, the full breakfast you cooked me, the cute little office you set up, and the shower sex? Nah, J, I think I’m good.”
He grinned and gave me a soft, sweet kiss before heading to his front door. “I’ll see you tonight. Call if you need anything. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Shiiit. Jaxon Wood, ladies and gentlemen— perfection in a sweet, sexy, nerdy package, and now, he officially belonged to me. He was the beautiful piece of the world that I could keep, and I could not stop smiling about it. I didn’t even let myself freak out about the fact that he was going to work with his gorgeous ex. J didn’t want Savannah. He wanted me, and only God knew why.
I pulled out my laptop and set it up in my little office. Jaxon had taped a few photos of us to the wall, saying, “In case you miss me too much while I’m gone.” He even brought in a little potted plant and set it on the desk. Shit, he was adorable.
When I opened my laptop, I saw an email from the travel agency that reached out a few days ago. I read the email and released a long slow breath. They wanted me in Ireland next week. They were going to reimburse me for all travel expenses and pay twenty percent more than my usual rate.
I’d be stupid not to take this job. I wanted to take the job, but I responded to their inquiry when I was mad at Jaxon and wanted to run away like a child. Now, I didn’t want to leave his side.
I ran my hands through my hair and leaned back in Jaxon’s comfy office chair. I wouldn’t answer the email yet. When J got home, we’d talk about it, probably after we fucked a few times.
???
I cooked again. Jaxon told me I was a good cook, and it had me ready to open a damn restaurant. That was how good it made me feel when J complimented me. It was the best high I’d ever experienced.
