“Fuuuck, K!” I could hear the smile in his voice before I even turned around. He dropped his keys on the entryway table and placed his backpack with his laptop on the floor.
“What’s up, J?”
He laughed and leaned against the kitchen counter, just watching me. “You look sexy, kinda like you need to be fucked. Also, whatever you’re making smells incredible.”
“It’s Swedish meatballs. This cute old lady taught me how to make them when I was in Sweden a couple of years ago. Also, I absolutely need to be fucked, but after we eat. I worked my ass off on these meatballs, and they will be eaten hot.”
Jaxon smiled and pulled me into his arms for a long, deep kiss. “Mmm.” He rested his forehead against mine. “Thank you.”
While we ate, J nerded-out on me and started talking about science fiction shows. By the time we finished dinner, he was pissed that I hadn’t watched every episode of Black Mirror yet. It was decided. We were going to watch the last season and then have sex. It was Friday, and J didn’t have to work in the morning, so we could stay up all night.
Jaxon sat on his couch and pulled me down onto his lap. “You seriously never watched the last season of Black Mirror? I told you to watch it like a year ago!” He grabbed the remote and turned on the TV, keeping one arm wrapped around my waist.
I laughed and leaned into him. “I’ve been busy, J! Plus, I wanted to watch with you, but your stupid ex-girlfriend wouldn’t let me come over!”
Jaxon pressed a kiss to the back of my neck while he scrolled through the Netflix menu. “In her defense, I was in love with you while dating her. She was right to feel threatened.” He found the show, clicked play, and tossed the remote on the coffee table.
“That was a stupid thing to do for such a genius.”
“What?”
“Date one girl when you loved another one.”
Jaxon wrapped both arms around me. “I never said I was a genius. Those have always been your words.”
“They’re true.” I sighed and settled into my best friend boyfriend love of my life. I could feel him stiffening against my ass. “You got something in your pocket, baby?” I teased.
Jaxon laughed. “For you? Always.”
I turned to straddle him, pressing soft, slow kisses to his lips. I needed to talk to him about Ireland. Would he be okay with my job now that we were together? Would I be all right with my work taking me away from him so often?
“Hey, J?”
“What’s up?”
“I got a job offer in Ireland.”
“That’s awesome!” He kissed my neck.
“I would have to leave in five days.”
Jaxon paused with his lips on my collarbone. “For how long?”
“This one’s only two weeks.”
Jaxon leaned forward to grab the remote and switched the TV off. “Okay, well, I guess we have to fit in as much sex as possible in the next five days.”
I laughed as Jaxon worked on my shirt buttons. “That shouldn’t be too hard for us.”
“Not. At. All.” His words were muffled by my breasts. “Mmm, you smell good.” He ran his tongue down my neck. “And you taste good.”
I sighed and slid my hands into his hair. I kissed his nose, brushed the side of his face with my fingers, and gazed into his eyes. “Jaxon, is my job okay with you?”
“Of course it is.” He gently ran his fingers through my hair.
“I’m gone a lot, like half the year. You don’t think it’s going to end up being a problem for us?” I bit my lip and melted into his touch.
“If it becomes a problem, we’ll figure out a solution. You know that’s what I do all day every day, right? I solve problems.” Jaxon laughed and kissed my forehead.
