Jonah cracked a smile. “Yeah, I can see that.”

“So why was it different with you?”

“I don’t know!” Jonah protested, finally meeting his gaze. “Maybe because this is your room too and you couldn’t leave?”

I am unreasonably into this idiot, Felix thought with a resigned sigh. For a smart man, Jonah really was being exceptionally dense at the moment. Although if Felix was being perfectly honest, Jonah was usually the smart one and he was the one acting like an idiot. Maybe turnabout was fair play.

“That wasn’t why, you dumbass,” Felix pointed out.

“Hey!” Jonah protested. “Who are you calling a dumbass?”

“You!” Felix said, laughing. “I was into watching you, okay? What part of that are you not getting?”

Amusement fading, Jonah stared at him for the longest time, his dark eyes solemn and inscrutable.

“Jonah?” Felix prompted.

“I don’t get it. Why me?”

“How the fuck should I know?” Felix asked with a shrug. “But last night was … really fucking hot.”

“Yeah.” Jonah released a shaky little sigh. “It was.”

“And maybe, if you’re up for it, we should do that again.”

Jonah blinked at him. “Wait, really?”

“I mean, why not?” Felix honestly wanted to do more than that but he wondered if he’d break Jonah if he said that aloud.

Jonah sputtered. “Probably a lot of reasons! I can’t think of one at the moment but—”

“Look,” Felix said. “The last thing I want to do is make you uncomfortable. I’m not going to sit here and try to talk you into something you don’t want to do. But watching you last night was the absolute hottest thing I’ve done with anyone in a long time. And now I really want to know what other things might be like that with you.”

Jonah licked his lips and hoarsely said, “What other kind of things?”

Felix grinned. “I don’t know. Why don’t you brush your teeth and we can find out?”

But Jonah just stared at him.

“Hey, I know you’re not at your best when you first wake up but are you going to sit there staring at me like that all morning or are you going to go brush your teeth so I can kiss you?” Felix teased.

“Brush my teeth?” Jonah said faintly.

Felix smirked at him. “Well, better get it done then.”

Jonah got to his feet and walked to the bathroom, still looking a little dazed. When the sounds of running water and Jonah gargling filled the air a few minutes later, Felix smiled.

He stretched, feeling his back pop softly. They needed to be at breakfast soon but they should have enough time for a little fooling around.

He let his mind wander, imagining what it would feel like to kiss Jonah. To run his hands over Jonah’s chest and back, to grip his thigh and hitch it higher on his hip as they made out—

“All done.” Jonah stood by the foot of the bed, staring hesitantly at him.

Felix patted the empty side of the mattress, where the sheets were still a little warm from Jonah’s body heat. “Get comfy. I’ll be right back.”

Wide-eyed, Jonah sat.

Felix whistled under his breath as he walked toward the bathroom. Oh yeah, this was going to be good.
