“I’m not. I really wish I was, but you couldn’t pay me to make this up.”

“Elaborate.”

I inhale and release a sharp breath. “Like I said, we were hanging out for a while, but I hadn’t given him the cookies yet.”

“Cookies?” He cocks his brow more.

“Yes,” I say confidently.

“Mm,” he mutters then drinks.

“What?”

“It’s fitting,” he flirts.

I swallow. “Anyways, it had been a while, JJ was with my parents, and I wanted some. So I invited him over; eventually, he got undressed, we were in bed, but he was excited, I guess, because he was having a hard timegetting ready.And it seems that no matter how hard he tried or how long we kissed, nothing helped. After a few minutes, I suggested we just call it quits.But, when he got up, there was a shit stain on my sheets where his naked ass was.”

He spits a little. “Nope. I don’t believe you.”

“I swear, Jasper.”

“What did you do?” He laughs.

“Never spoke to him again,” I admit in a near squeak.

He’s doubled over now, his shoulders shaking. “Please tell me you trashed the sheets.”

“I set them on fire.”

“Ha. Sorry, I shouldn’t laugh, but wow…that’s pretty bad. I could never show my face again if I got shit on a girl’s sheets.”

“Stop.” I slap his thigh.

“What did he say?”

“Oops.”

His laugh grows into a roar. “How old was he?”

“Twenty-four.”

“And he shit on your bed. Uh, um. How did he show his face at work again?” Jas quizzes.

“Don’t ask me. But he ended up moving away shortly after, and I’ve been single since.”

“I don’t blame you.” He tries to hold in a laugh but fails.

“Stop laughing.”

“Okay, okay. I’m sorry.” He straightens his spine and pinches his mouth closed, but no matter how hard he tries, the laughter wins in the end.

“You get on my nerves.” I grin and swallow the last of my drink.

Jasper reaches for the bottle, pouring more wine into my glass.

“What’s dating been like for you?” I ask.

He raises a brow almost as if my question surprises him. “Honestly, I can’t even tell you the last time Idated. I’ve fooled around here and there but I’ve never really taken anyone seriously after you.”
