“I know, but you will still help me when I need it, right?” she asks me with big puppy dog eyes.

“Always, kiddo.” An alarm goes off on my phone. “But it’s time to go. Get your bag and we’ll take you to the school.”

“You will?”

“Yes.” Niccolò kisses my cheek as he watches Anna light up. Anna gets up from her seat, setting her bowl next the sink before running out of the room.

“You’re going to make a fabulous mom.” He steals another kiss; this time it’s on my lips.

“You’re not gonna be a bad dad yourself.” He takes my hand in his and then leads me out of the kitchen so we can corral Anna with all her exuberance before she gets too excited.

The entire drive to the school Niccolò is filled with tension, but I’m not sure why. He had no problem letting her go across the country. Leaning my head on his shoulder, I whisper so that Anna can’t hear me, “What’s the matter?”

“Nothing, amore.” He’s lying, but I’m not bothered because men don’t always show their emotions.

We arrive at the school and Dino holds the door open for us, clarifying that Anna isn’t just another kid. It makes me a little nervous, but her guards will remain outside of the school if needed.

We reach the front steps and are immediately greeted by the principal who is an elderly woman. “Hello, I’m Principal Wagner. You must be the Leone family. We’re glad to have Anna join us.”

“Thank you. We trust our niece will be well looked after, correct?” Niccolò asks with an obvious threat laced in his words.

“Yes, Mr. Leone. Would you like a tour before we start the day?”

“Yes.” He takes Dino and Oscar with as the principal gives us a quick tour of the main floor and the amenities. A male teacher steps out of his classroom to speak with the principal and Niccolò snarls, “She’s married.” I look at my husband like he’s lost his mind, but I know it’s a pointless effort.

Smiling, I nod to them and say, “Thank you for the tour. I believe we’ll be on our way now.” I look down at Anna and add, “Have a great day, sweet girl. We’ll see you later and remember we love you.”

I wait until we’re in the back of the SUV and the divider is pulled up before I straddle my man. “I think you’ve lost it.”

“No, I’ve found the greatest thing in the world, and I’ll be damned if some nerdy, handsome fuck steals you away.”

“You are insane.”

“You’re learning.” I kiss him all over his face before sliding my tongue into his mouth. When we get home the both of us are so hot, that we barely make it to his office before we’re fucking against the door. Letting the wood rattle violently as he reminds me that I’m only his, like I could ever forget. He’s not the only one obsessed.

Epilogue

Niccolò

“Come now, my boy.” My son hurries clumsily toward me as Lucy and Anna watch on, giggling. At nearly a little over a year, he’s fine-tuning those motor skills.

“Dada.”

“He’s so cute. I can’t wait to have a baby one day,” Anna blurts out. I freeze with Massimo in my arms.

“Whoa,” I snarl, looking at my niece like she’s lost her mind. She’s only twelve and way too young to even consider it.

“Chill, Uncle Nico, I mean like when I’m like thirty or something. I also know he cries a lot and needs his butt wiped. Those are things I’ll pass on. I’m going to finish my homework.”

“Ever since she started her period, she’s gotten slightly moody.” It nearly sent me into an early grave when I learned of that happening so damn soon.

“She’s a girl; it happens. Besides, you didn’t seem to mind with me.”

“You are completely different. Besides, I hate when you have your period now because that means I didn’t knock you up even though I can’t stay out of your hot pussy.” I finished that last part, covering my son’s ears. He’s just learning to speak, and I don’t need him picking up those words into his vocabulary.

“Yes, well, you won’t need to worry about it for another eight months.”

“Hell yes, it took long enough.” She was breastfeeding for seven months, so it kept her from getting pregnant, the doctor said, but then the little guy’s teeth started coming in and one too many bites and we called it quits on feeding. He’s a big boy who’s taken well to baby and toddler food now.
