There was an uncomfortable silence. “I’dnever met her outside of this apartment, and within minutes ofmeeting her, I was fucking, well, you know.” I wasn’t proud ofthat, and I didn’t think Siena would feel great about it either.“It’s fair to say I’ve treated her like a whore. But it wasnever my intention. I wanted to get to know her.”

Finn looked shifty.

“What did you do, Finn?” Eton asked.

“I did pay her to come back here.”

“What?” Eton exclaimed on behalf of both ofus.

“It wasn’t for sex. I made it quite clear.I just gave her money, so she didn’t have to stay at work. I saidwe wanted to get to know her.”

“Fuck, Finn. I understand why you did it, butif you’d have told me I’d never have…” Eton waved his handabout. “Well, last night would’ve been different.”

“I thought we were all having fun, but now Ican see she might not feel the same way about things,” Finnacknowledged.

“Right. Guys, she might not be long in there. We’ve really fucked up. Now, we need a plan to seduce her properly, like we should’ve done in the first place.”

My brothers looked ready to agree to anything.

“Quickly, shower and dress, and on your bestbehavior while we do whatever we need to do to make her feel good.”

“And what about Dad?”

“Fuck him. Well, not literally, especiallynot you two gay dudes.” I grinned, and Finn took a swipe at me.“Nah, I mean, I saw him last night, and he told me nothing abouthis wedding plans. He doesn’t get to turn up and surprise us likethat, mess up our lives, insult our woman, and have us all jump forhim. He did real damage this morning.”

“Serious damage,” Eton agreed.

“And we need to set that straight. Straight, guys, you two hear that?”

Eton punched me this time. And it was a littlemore forceful than he needed to be. “Anyway, Dad’s okay. He has anew woman. Our woman is more important to us right now.”

I don’t know how we did it, but by the timeSiena stepped into the living area wrapped in a big fluffy towel, Iwas scrubbed and dressed and setting out a high-calorie breakfastbuffet.

“I hope there’s something here you’d liketo eat.”

She looked for a long time at the cake, chocolates, and pile of fresh pancakes I’d placed in the middle ofthe table.

“I’m not too hungry, but it does smellgood. I just need my clothes first.” Her gaze swept the room, butwe’d already tidied up from the previous night.

“Are you sure? Because you look good withoutthem.”

She didn’t look amused, but fortunately, Etoncame to the rescue.

“I’ve gathered up all your stuff, and it’sin my room. Come with me, and I’ll show you.”

“Then come back for coffee,” I called afterher.

A few minutes later, she returned with Eton. Iwondered if he’d stayed with her and helped her dress. She waswearing a big baggy top as a makeshift dress, and I was sure it washis. She had no makeup on; I appreciated her natural beauty. Eton hadfound a gem among women that day.

She looked sad, and I wanted to take her in myarms and make her feel loved and happy.

Eaton held a chair for her, she sat at thetable and us three brothers joined her. Eton and Finn reached for thefood hungrily, but I put an assortment of the sweet stuff on Siena’splate before it was all gone. “Sorry, this is all that was in thecupboards here.”

She looked around at us and at the food as ifshe’d never sat at a table for a family breakfast before. “Thislooks good.” She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. Had hermother’s words upset her that much, or was it something we’d donewrong?

“Whatever you have planned for the day,”Finn said, “we’d like to be part of those plans, if you’ll haveus.”

“My day just got blown to pieces, to behonest.” She addressed her next comments toward Finn. “I haven’tgot a job to go to. The club closed after I left. There was a policeraid, and the owner was arrested. Gill thinks it might reopensometime, and she hopes it’ll be soon, but she’s not sure when.”
