I hated that seeing him somehow made me feel more like myself. Like I could leave behind all the masks and pretence at the door and walk into this lab without their suffocating weight.
I scowled at the demon, turning my back on him to go through the usual motions. Glare at today’s notes. Grab the compound from the mini fridge. Prepare the syringe. Inject. Deep breath.
Face the demon.
“What useless chemical have you got in your veins today, poison?” he practically purred, leaning his forearm on the glass above his head, showing off the deadly elbow spike tipping it.
His presence sucked the oxygen from the room.
Need gathered at the sight of his dark form. How a demon could make my own body betray me was just embarrassing.
The bastard had conditioned me like Pavlov’s dogs, but I was more than just salivating.
With my uncle’s latest punishment bearing down on me, I couldn’t summon the energy to care. If he knew what this demon did to me, he’d be furious.
A brief smirk tugged at my lips. I might not defy him openly, but even this small rebellion felt like the closest thing to freedom I’d ever get.
I closed the gap to my captive, running my gaze over him more fully as a twisted sort of curiosity sank its fangs in.
If you ignored the vicious demonic features, invoking fear in most sane people, he’d make an attractive man. Broad shoulders, thickly muscled arms and sharp cut abs. Sweeping tattoos marking his skin in intricate lines. His face looked carved from stone, all angular lines, but too masculine and rugged to be pretty. His white hair looked downy soft, just begging me to run my hands through it, even with the threatening horns nestled within.
All in all, if things were different, I might have considered it.
Or maybe that was the incessant need he’d built inside me without release. Even getting myself off in the privacy of my shower did nothing but frustrate me more.
And it was all his fault.
I levelled a steely glare at the demon as I slid the hatch open to the first click and shoved my wrist against the small feeding slot. “I hope you choke on it, Sin.”
He grinned, sinking to his knees. “If you’re good, maybe you will too.”
I frowned, puzzling over his meaning before he struck, fangs piercing deep and stealing all rational thought.
Pleasure blinded me. A moan escaped my lips as I leaned heavily against the glass. Heat travelled from his bite through my bloodstream, lighting me on fire. Liquid need pooled at my core, building and building until I thought I’d explode if I didn’t get the release that hovered closer and closer.
The demon slid his fangs free, my blood smearing his lips in a vivid splash of colour against his grey skin.
“You need to come, don’t you, poison?” His mocking sneer only fanned the flames he’d ignited.
“Fuck. You,” I gritted out, panting hard.
My body was on fire. Heat rolling through me in waves of need.
Was this what insanity felt like?
“Not yet,” he drawled. “But I’ll make you come if you get on your knees and choke on my cock.”
His words hit me like a slap to the clit.
My lips parted in shock, quickly transforming to outrage. “Has this compound addled whatever pea-brain should be between those horns?” I hissed, yanking my bleeding arm back. “I’m not touching a single vile part of you.”
The demon chuckled, pupils blown wide as he climbed smoothly to his feet. He pressed a palm to the glass, claws clicking against it. His hand was easily bigger than my face.
“Ah, my sweet poison with her bitter words.” His evil smile was back. “I can give you exactly what you need, and I’ll make you scream like no human ever could.”
I sneered at him, but my legs refused to move. Pleasure stalked through my veins, hungry for an outlet.
Something warm touched my leg. I jolted as I noticed his long tail squeezed through the gap in the barrier. I tensed, watching as the smooth heart-shaped tip parted my lab coat, sliding under my dress to touch the bare skin of my thigh.
