Oh yeah, he was seriously pissed….

“You are better, and I don’t appreciate having to send out my Prime Cyborg in order to free my fucking Daughter!” he roared.

She stared at him. He didn’t? Oh yeah he fucking did…!

Wait a minute….. Prime Cyborg? Marcus…. was her father’s Prime Cyborg….. ?

HolyFuck! It really was…. Marcus.

Oh God…. Could it be any worse?

She flicked her eyes to look at the Cyborg in question on the other side of that screen. He smirked at her. She’d been in his company twice and not truly seen it. Hadn’t wanted to see it. He just stared at her now. So fucking intensely she could feel his heat. His taste. His everything. And suddenly felt twelve again blurting out that she loved him when he’d come to take her quad. Just before he’d packed up his shit and left for the SC’s compound and never returned again. Well, in fairness he did return but she never saw him again, not much anyway, even when they’d joined them in their mountain base. That had been a little over ten years ago.

They made sure their paths never really crossed. Because she didn’t want to.

The floor open up and swallow her whole… How had she not put that together and seen him for who he was. Was she that in denial?

Clearly she was but she knew how.

She’d been in bloody denial for over a decade, nearly two. It had been seventeen years since she was twelve and she’d never seen him like this. Not up close and personal as an adult not since the morning she’d threatened him as a child. Her memory of him was different. Her child’s eye was not that of an adult and as an adult, she’d kept her distance, as far as fucking possible. Pulling her eyes away, she felt a little sick and embarrassed remembering the incident like it was yesterday and noticed everyone in the room with her was now staring at her.

Looked like the jig was up. She was fucked.

Fuck it…

Sighing she stepped forward deciding to own it and waved. “Hi guys, I could do with a workout.” Her uncles smirked back at her and she looked at her Dad avoiding the Cyborg altogether in the other screen. Fuck him.

“Hey Dad, yeah my bad, how’s it going?”

“How’s it going?” he baulked about to burst a blood vessel.

Oh Shit…. That was never good. She’d promised.

“We’re just fucking peachy. Not so fucking good on your end is it? Impending fucking disaster aimed right at your ass is what’s happening and another reason I’m having to make this damn call in the first place. They,” he thumbed to her self-proclaimed Cyborg uncles. “…..won’t let you ash. Although I’m sorely fucking tempted right now after the stunt you just pulled, and your mother wants those babies before she’d too old to run after them.”

She cringed and didn’t dare take her eyes off her father and look at Marcus or think about why she was even tempted to do so, but it took a lot of damn effort she knew that. She watched as her father shifted in his seat, she knew he didn’t mean that, he was just upset. She’d upset him by not sticking to what they’d agreed and genuinely felt bad about that. Her family were odd but loving. The babies’ comment was an old argument. Since she was bloody 19! Her mother was like a dog with a bone on that subject. She just wouldn’t let it go.

“If they have to kill every mother fucker between you and them, you know they will, just to have you with them and safe.” He told her.

She did know that, they’d honoured her choice in this but it hadn’t been easy and she was sure they’d been keeping tabs on her the whole time. And seeing as Marcus knew exactly where she was it was likely. But right now, people in the room were getting antsy.

She sighed loudly. “Okay, okay. I’ll get right on the babies thing.” She told him sarcastically. Marcus took a step forward, he looked angry. Frowning she focused on her Dad. “Tell mom to satisfy herself with her pups.” She shook her head. There would be no babies. She’d made that decision when she’d been a child. When she’d been told by her uncles, they couldn’t have children.

But that wasn’t true now was it?.....

Things were changing, she wasn’t sure she liked that and chinned at them smiling. A little payback time.

“Soooo, uncles dearest, did you forget to mention something last time I saw you? Like why you’re not giving my mom the babies she needs?” From the periphery of her eyes, she saw Marcus release his arms, clenching his fists. “Don’t tell me you still have no game? Really, it’s just embarrassing!”

There were several sniggers in the room with her. She knew they had far more game than they could handle. They all grinned back. “You saying that pact is broken little bit?” Hawk asked. Always the spokesman. “Your mother will be knitting booties.”

“I hear it is for you.” She sniggered. Their grins just got wider. She shook her head. She wasn’t interested in them like that and they all knew it. “Love you too guys but, you know I had to do this, they don’t have you on their side. They need you, I’m a poor second.”

“There is an opportunity here.” The Director cut in. “We can bridge these social gaps, work together against the Killer Cyborgs. I’m guessing it’s your work that has been protecting the small communities we’ve been hearing about.” Her Dad gave a nod.

“Marcus’ teams, yes.”

“You’re human and in charge of everyone there?”
