His action didn’t need any deciphering.

Prick.

Bastard.

Only after making me stew in emotions he had no right to create, did Jax turn and peck my cheek. “Don’t hate me too much.”

Like I said, bastard.

“She’s coming with me,” Xavier shoved Chase enough to send him back a pace. “My girl, my side. It’s not even a question.”

“You and Jax had her last night.” Normally a man who let his drums do his talking, Chase wasn’t backing down. “My car, and Devon can tag along.”

“Guys?” With Devon’s hand still around me and Jax’ betrayal still smarting, I took a moment to be sandwiched with my main men. Kisses from the front, caresses from behind.

The blonde inside be damned. These were my men and if Jax didn’t want to be—

No.

I couldn’t let him get to me. Not again.

“What’s going on?” At least I could put the rest of my family back together.

“The drive back to Meringa. The bus, Chase’s car and you.”

“We need to talk,” Chase pressed his claim.

“You had your turn on the balcony.” Xavier kissed me again. “She’s my woman.”

“You had her last night, and then your bloody breakfast date this morning. Don’t try telling me you haven’t already fucked her.” Chase wasn’t letting go.

“Mate, let her come in the car with Chase and me.” Devon’s hands spoke to me, but his words were for Xavier.

Since when did Xavier have agency over my body? The more they argued, the more I bristled. Xavier was my man, but only because he was my choice. We’d set the rules, together. That if I was with one of the others, Xavier had to be involved. It was about protecting us. And after watching Jax and the blonde, I understood his jealousy. As she’d scribbled her phone number down, I’d thought of how many ways I could grab the pen and stab her. All for the crime of flirting with a man I’d never slept with.

Jealousy could tear us apart.

“Sydney?” The voice from over my shoulder sent tingles to where they had no right to go. “We should talk.”

“About what?” Still sandwiched between Xavier and Devon, it was as if we were in two worlds. Three men fighting over me, and Jax wanting to talk.

“What happened, or didn’t happen back at Meringa, what didn’t happen last night, and what happened back there with Staci.”

“Staci?” I spat.

“The blonde who would probably trade her implants for one night being you.”

“What’s going on?” Suddenly, Xavier stopped arguing with Chase and tried to catch up. Backing away, to take Jax and I in. “What happened?”

“Sydney, we can go in the car—” Jax started before Chase interrupted.

“It’s my car.”

“Or the bus, or I’ll get us a cab or Uber. We need to talk, but it’s up to you. We can do it on the way back to Meringa, or anywhere you want.” Jax continued, ignoring the guys. The only person who gave me a choice was the biggest bastard of all.

In the end, my choice was easier than the goodbyes. Needing to prove a point to Xavier, Chase and Devon that I still had control over my body and my time, I chose Jax. But, also proving to Jax and Xavier who held my heart, I invited Xavier to join us on the bus.

Xavier handed me over to Chase for goodbye kisses filled with love. There was no longer hiding his feelings, or mine. Chase would never be just a fuck again.
