“No.” Jax slammed a knife into the board. “It’s the song every girl is gonna wish was written about her. I want to rock it out. I want to fuck to it. I want every guy on the planet to fuck to it. I want every woman in a stadium to want it sung to her, while she’s being fucked by a random stranger.” Jax hit his stride, and I could see him dragging Xavier along for the ride. “I want a tagline we can put on posters and plaster across social media. I want it to be epic.”

My heart almost stopped when Jax looked to me. Demanding my full attention as he finished, “I want to fuck more to this song than I’ve ever fucked without it.”

Wow.

“And will you think of me when you’re fucking?”

I backed into Xavier, his body giving me the confidence of knowing two out of the three men in this kitchen wanted me. And the third didn’t matter.

Jax sized me up and down before shoving Chase out of his way. Reminiscent of last night, pressed between the bodies of the two most alpha males of the band.

“Ask me the question you really want.”

“I did.” Slowly, I turned to face Xavier. My man. My man. Keep telling yourself that, because Jax didn’t get the message.

“You’re lying to yourself as much as you’re lying to me and your man.”

“Why would I do that?”

“Because you’re afraid of the answer.”

“There’s nothing you could say that would make me afraid.”

“Oh, my sweet Lolita. You wanna know whether I’m gonna think about you five seconds after I fuck you.”

I didn’t turn to him, watching Xavier look for my reaction. I didn’t have to think, my response coming as naturally as breathing, “Well, it would be a waste of time if you didn’t.”

“Xav, your girl and I need some alone time.”

“You had an hour.”

“We need more.”

“No.”

“Look, I’m going to take her for a walk down to the headline. There’s a spot where we kissed.”

I hated how much I remembered each kiss. I remembered each place, how he did or didn’t cup my face or hold back my hair. The times he took me by surprise, and the times Jax gave me fair warning.

“Xavier, she’s your girl. I get that. So, as a friend, are you okay, if I take her back to that spot and see if there’s any fucking magic between us or whether it was just a one-time deal.”

“For one kiss?”

“For whatever it takes.”

Xavier waited for me to react, to give him a sign. This time, he’d have to guess what I wanted.

“I’ll give you a half hour head start then.” Xavier looked to Jax before back to me. No reaction, nothing to show him the thousand ideas rushing through my head. All the things Jax and I could do in half an hour. “Then, I’m following.”

“What the fuck?” Jax seethed. Showing more emotion than I expected.

“Like you said, she’s my girl.”

“And you’re an asshole.”

“What if—” I interrupted. Thinking quickly. Needing to make this work, for all of us. “I go for the walk with Jax and give you and Chase time to come up with the killer final verse.”

“We’ve been trying.” Chase reminded us he was still in the kitchen.
