But he didn’t trust me enough yet to relax and enjoy the exquisite sensation of the knot pushing into all the right places. After all, I was an alpha, and despite everything, that still put me in the same basket as the other alphas he had known. But then I remembered Irian was here.
“Irian!”
In an instant Irian had launched himself onto the bed, face to face with the terrified Isca. Looking earnestly in his eyes, he said, “Trust him. This will be the best part. Promise.” He smiled encouragingly and kissed him.
What I hadn’t been able to do, Irian could. With an effort, Isca slowly relaxed beneath me until he was lying on the bed, still quivering softly. I knew the moment the fear left him and he felt instead the amazing sensation of my knot binding us together. He moaned softly and whimpered, but this time from pleasure, and to both our surprise, he came again.
My legs were beginning to shake, so with one arm holding him close to me, I rolled down onto the bed. We lay there on our sides, joined together.
“How… how do we separate?” Isca sniffed.
“My knot will eventually go down,” I told him, nuzzling the back of his ear. “We’ll stay joined until it does. Just lie back and enjoy it.”
Isca leaned back against my chest and sighed. As if a great weight had lifted from him.
There was something so extraordinarily intimate about knotting. It was the closest you could feel to another person; it was the melding together into one, where you couldn't tell where one of you ended and the other began. If you loved each other, it was a metaphysical experience. I loved it. I loved it with Irian, and I was loving it with Isca now he'd let himself go. I hoped Isca was experiencing it this way too.
“Like that?”
“Oh my Goddess, yes. It’s a-amazing” he replied, dreamily. A darker pink crept up his neck, already flushed from our exertions. There was a pause, then, “Thank you, Talius.”
I smiled and dropped little kisses on his neck, around his hairline. “You’re very welcome, Isca. You’re a beautiful omega. You deserve the world.”
When we separated twenty minutes later, Isca’s heat still hadn’t broken, but he was no longer afraid. He rested and when later he roused, burning up from the inside again and out of his mind, begging for relief, there was nothing but gratitude in his eyes as I took him.
We fucked three more times during the night and knotted twice. We fell asleep right as dawn was lighting up the sky, Isca pressed to my chest and Irian snuggled up against Isca.
When I woke later that morning and scented the air, Isca’s heat had broken.
And when we were up and moving around the house that day, I noticed Isca held himself a little straighter, stood a little taller and smiled more freely. He did seem to find sitting down somewhat awkward but that didn’t wipe the smile off his face.
Chapter 16
ISCA
I knocked on the door to Talius’ office, balancing the tray with his afternoon tea in one hand. Irian and I had been baking again, and were excited to show off our biscuits, hot out of the oven. Today it was my turn to deliver the tray.
I entered the office, to find Talius wasn’t alone. A smaller, younger man was standing behind him, leaning over his shoulder as he pointed out something on the computer. He was a young alpha, from the scent of him. I thought I might have seen him around the farm a few times lately, but I’d never spoken to him. That wasn’t surprising as Talius was keeping me pretty close to the house until we were certain there was no threat from Zarbius or his pack.
Two sets of eyes turned to me as I cheerfully brought in the tray.
The young alpha straightened up, his eyes glowing with interest. His nostrils flared. He seemed to grow an extra few inches and his chest puffed out.
A low growl rumbled warningly around the room, primal and possessive. Shocked, my eyes fixed on Talius.
“Mine,” Talius snarled, canines extended, lips curling up menacingly.
The young alpha physically jumped.
He stared at Talius, neither of them saying anything, then he backed down, stepping away and returning to his normal size.
“Two?” he asked.
“Yes, two,” replied Talius evenly. They stared at each other for a moment longer, then the younger man just nodded, and returned his attention to the computer.
“Just put the tray down over here on the desk, please Isca,” Talius turned his beautiful blue eyes on me, the timbre of his voice back to normal. Calm, confident, powerful.
I was still standing there in a daze, because… Talius just got possessive over me?
