“I am not very good at handling such nuisances, Roshni,” he exclaimed. “So, you better fix things before I cancel this entire event.”
Roshni swallowed hard.
“Ranveer, we are working on this. Please don't panic.”
He laughed sarcastically.
“You should panic, not me. Because if I lose interest here, you know you will have to pack up forever from this country and sell your designs on the road instead of on the ramp.”
His harsh words hurt her deeply, but she nodded in defeat. That was the only way to avoid any argument with him. Aman Mathur, Ranveer's personal assistant, approached them, interrupting their conversation.
“Ranveer, the show has begun. Your introduction is first. The media is waiting too.”
Ranveer nodded and pointed a finger at Roshni again.
“Get this sorted. Fast.”
With that warning, he left with Aman. Roshni was on the verge of breaking down, but Deep handled it well.
“Ma'am, I have a slight suggestion here if you want to hear it.”
“Go ahead, Deep. I am okay with anything that can save my dignity in this show.”
Deep explained something to her, and she looked confused.
“Are you sure about this?” she asked to confirm.
“I have seen her work before. She is the only one who can handle this right now.”
“Then let's talk to her.”
She hurried to the Models' room, and Deep followed her.
“But Ma'am, there is one problem.”
Roshni kept walking.
“What problem?”
“She won't agree to do this. She has quit walking on the ramp years ago.”
“That's fine; I will convince her.”
They reached the Models' room, where everyone was in a hurry to get ready and line up for the ramp walk. Roshni headed straight to Maya Bajaj.
“Maya.”
Maya turned around, disconnecting another failed call. She had tried to contact all the models she knew, but either they were out of the city or not answering the call.
“Roshni, I need more time,” she requested.
“Time? Do you realize the show has already started? We can't waste any more time on this, Maya. My show is at stake. My sponsor has already warned me. Hence, there is only one way left now to handle this.”
“What is it?”
“Deep told me you used to walk on the ramp.”
Maya looked terrified.
