Ranveer kept his eyes glued to her. She looked so delicate and kissable right now, even when frustrated.
“You didn’t ask me once before letting Mumma bring Adira here last night. Then today morning I wake up and see Martha. You could have informed me that my bodyguard is finalized at least. And then your decision to allow Adira to stay. I am clueless and I hate this feeling.” She clutched his shirt to bring him closer.
It was awkward to be pinned by his wife like that. It was in his agenda most of the time. But this was no time to remain silent but to give her the assurances she needed.
“I will work on it,” he promised, tucking a strand of hair away from her eye. “I will talk to you, take your opinion before making decisions that could affect both of us.”
Maya’s grip on his shirt should have loosened, but it didn’t. She gripped him tighter, bringing him even closer to her lips.
“I love it when you agree with my point,” she murmured.
He felt the heat radiating from their bodies. Had it not been the kitchen but their bedroom, things would have turned out differently. But he could still change it to their favor.
“Let’s eat for now. I remember something very urgent to finish afterward, which could drain you out for some time. So, eat your breakfast well and head back to our room. I will see you there.” He stroked her cheeks and then slipped out of the kitchen, leaving his seduced wife to compose herself.
Chapter 68
Paradise
They had spent another hour indulging in lovemaking after breakfast, during which her boss, Vikram, called her to the office for some urgent work. She zipped up her formal skirt and turned to Ranveer, showcasing her ever-sexy office attire.
“Just when I was considering working from home, you had to pull this on me?” Ranveer complained, admiring his wife getting ready for work. “Why is the skirt so tight?” he added.
Maya chuckled at his unnecessary complaints.
“Mr. Husband, it's business attire. All the female staff at your office wear similar outfits. You never complain about them.”
“That's because they're not my wives, you are.” He frowned.
“You have a point,” she conceded, glancing back at the mirror to apply some gloss to her lips.
“Don't leave me alone for too long,” he pleaded. “For God's sake, it's the weekend.”
Maya put the gloss away and hurriedly approached her husband, who sat on the bed leisurely.
“I'll come back in two hours, promise. And no more assignments on weekends henceforth. I’ll inform Vikram accordingly so he doesn’t disturb our family time.”
“You know what?” he pulled her onto his lap. “Just resign. That’s the best for us.”
Maya winced inwardly. They had discussed this before, that she loved her job. He knew she wouldn't quit; she wanted to be financially independent.
“Okay, what if I tell you to resign from Malhotra Group for me? Would you do it?” he asked.
Ranveer didn’t hesitate for a moment. “I would. Right away. Just say it. If that’s what you want, I'll appoint another CEO and let them lead the company while I stay at home with you.”
Maya was stunned by his reply. “You are the one who matters to me, Maya. Nothing else. No business, no money. Just you. They're all secondary.”
Maya kissed his cheek and wrapped her arms around his neck lovingly. “Okay. Here’s the deal then. When I am heavily pregnant, I will resign and stay home as a housewife. I'll look after you and our babies. How's that plan?”
It lightened his mood. “Every plan needs to be implemented first. How about we start now?”
“Now?” she giggled. “Nope.”
She pushed him away and got up before he could toss her on the bed again. Rushing to the closet to get her purse, Ranveer reached her and pinned Maya to the door.
“We never talked about it, but I think it’s high time now. When do you want us to have babies?” he asked.
She stood defenseless at his query.
