“I will,” she murmured.
“I didn’t hear it. Say it aloud,” he teased.
“Ranveer?” she frowned.
“Loud and clear,” he stressed again.
“I will,” she said loudly. “I will take the marriage vows with you tomorrow—”
She hadn’t even completed the statement when he kissed her. It was meant to be gentle when it started but ended up in devout passion.
Chapter 55
Next Morning – Wedding Day
Daadi learned from the resort staff that Ranveer had come there the previous night. Excited to meet him and check if he was prepared for the big day, she knocked on his room door. After repeated knocks without a response, she unlocked it and entered inside, finding it strange that he hadn't locked the door.
“Ranveer,” Daadi called out, but he was neither on the bed nor or in the room. Where could he have gone?
She came out and stopped one of the staff ladies. “Have you seen my grandson Ranveer?”
“No, Ma’am.”
Confused, Daadi wondered where Ranveer could be if he had returned.
“I know where he is,” a voice startled Subhadra Malhotra. She turned behind and found Kunal Malik standing at the door, grinning. She had never liked the Maliks or had any cordial relations with them. She had no clue why Ranveer even invited them to the wedding. But she never questioned it to her grandson; it was his wedding, and he was free to call anyone he wanted.
“You know?” she asked.
“Of course,” Kunal got into the room. “I had seen him last night.”
“Where?”
“Where else?” he sighed. “I really pity you, grandmother.”
“I am not your grandmother,” Subhadra snapped. She had never let anyone call her that except Ranveer. Not even Dhruv.
“Okay,” he shrugged his shoulders.
“You are wasting my time.”
She started walking to the door to leave when he spoke again.
“I saw him entering Maya’s room at midnight.”
Daadi stopped.
“And he never came out. Not yet,” Kunal looked at his watch.
Daadi gulped down her anger.
“I don’t believe you.”
“Then don’t. But please believe your eyes when you actually see them together, spending the night in each other’s arms.”
“Kunal,” she shouted. “You are talking about my grandson. When I have told him to do something, he would never go against my words.”
“I wish he was that obedient,” Kunal faked a sigh. “Anyways, all the best.”
