“Miss Bajaj, you may now see the doctor” the receptionist said to Maya, who was waiting for her mother’s therapy session to complete for the day.
She quickly headed to meet the doctor in his cabin.
“Please sit, Maya,” Dr. Rishikesh insisted. “The first session is complete. Your mother seems very enthusiastic about this, like she wants to recover. And this is a good sign. Has something happened in the past few weeks that has triggered this thought in her?”
Maya sighed in disappointment.
“Yes, Doctor. My father has been trying to contact her again, sending her gifts, flowers, and stuff like that, which she loves. She thinks he wants to reconcile with her, get back to her, and that makes her happy.”
“Oh, I understand. So, what is your take on this?” the Doctor asked Maya.
“I don’t want that man anywhere near my mother, Doctor. He has hurt her enough in the past years. I don’t think he genuinely wants her. He may be just fooling us around.”
The doctor listened carefully and tried to advise her.
“Right now, I would suggest not denying your mother from accepting his sent gifts. This is a good sign that she is showing some hope to live again. And you might snatch that from her by blocking her path towards your father.”
Maya nodded.
“Until he is making no contact to reach her physically, I think we can play it for our benefit.”
“Yes, Doctor,” she agreed. “Can I take my mother back home?”
“Yes, and also take the next appointment before leaving.”
“I will.”
Maya shook hands with Dr. Rishikesh and then headed to get her mother out of the therapy room.
Chapter 6
Delhi Airport
“How could you expect me to wait for another 3 hours to board?” Ranveer barked at Aman, who had accompanied him to the Airport.
“Boss, the jet had some technical tests to complete and somehow, they got delayed because of the additional procedures. I have talked to the Pilot and the concerned teams; they cannot avoid this delay,” Aman explained.
Ranveer gritted his teeth.
“It’s ridiculous, Aman. I don’t want this to happen again.”
“Yes, Boss. But if you are comfortable, I can get you booked on the next available flight to Hong Kong.”
“Do it.”
Ranveer checked his phone while Aman left to do the booking.

Maya collected her boarding pass and was surprised to see the Business Class tag over it. When did Blitz start offering Business class tickets to its employees? She knew Vikram would never approve it.
“Excuse me, I think there is a mistake. I should be in the premium economy class, not Business,” Maya pointed out to the ground staff of Hong Kong air.
“No Ma’am. You have been upgraded to Business.”
“Upgraded?” she asked with a little surprise. “How? I mean, who upgraded?”
“Sorry, Ma’am. But we do not have those details here. You can call our customer care and get it clarified.”
