“Sorry. What did you say?”
“I asked if you needed a ride home tonight. One of us can drive you to make sure you get home safely.”
“Oh, um, no. I drove. I’ll be fine. I should probably get going. I’m sure I can find some more trouble between here and home,” she said with a smile.
Zane made some kind of choking noise and when she looked over at him again, he looked as though he’d just sucked on a lime. Jace’s smile faded and he raised one of his eyebrows at her.
“No more trouble tonight, Ruby. You need to get home safely, get your pajamas on and go night-night. Understood?” Jace asked.
She could feel her own eyes widen at his instructions. He sounded so Daddyish and she suddenly felt so Little that it was hard to even keep her head straight. She would definitely be using her vibrator while thinking about these two men before she went to bed. Two men sharing one woman sounded so incredibly hot. Sure, she had read books where threesomes happened, but that had all just been fiction. These men actually lived it. And they were single.
They would never want you. You’re too needy and emotional.
“Ruby!” Zane barked.
She snapped her eyes to him. “What?”
He gave her an incredulous look and then scrubbed his hand over his face.
“Jace asked you if you understood. Did you drink tonight? You’re acting kind of out of it,” Zane said.
Yeah. She was out of it. Because they had dropped the bomb on her that they shared a woman. How could she not be all up in her head over that?
Waving her hand in the air, she grinned. “Calm down, Zaddy. I didn’t drink and I’m fine to drive. Besides, how much trouble could I really get into?”
Jace laughed while Zane sat completely still with a shocked and confused look on his face.
“Why does she keep calling me that?” he demanded, looking toward Jace.
Jace waved him off while still laughing as Ruby gave him the sweetest, most innocent smile she could manage.
“I’ll walk you to your car, little one,” Jace offered.
A pang of sadness filled her. For some reason, she didn’t want the night to end. She wanted to spend more time with the two men. Going home to her empty and lonely apartment sounded awful, but she was smart enough to know that she would never be the kind of person that two successful, hot men would want. No. They could have a supermodel. There was no way they would want a size twelve Little with an attitude problem and endless insecurities.
Standing up from the chair, Jace held out his hand to her and waited until she slid hers into it before he started leading her toward the door.
“Behave yourself, Ruby, and we look forward to seeing you at The Playground again,” Zane called out.
At The Playground. Those words saddened her. It wasn’t that they actually wanted to see her. They wanted her to come to the club. Ignoring the swell of emotion that the thought was causing, she schooled her face and turned back to him with a smile on her face.
“Peace out, Zaddy!” she said, giving him a peace sign with her fingers.
His expression immediately changed to a confused look. “I don’t understand!”
She giggled and followed Jace out of the office and then through the club until they stepped outside.
“Where are you parked?” he asked.
“Over there,” she said, pointing toward her car.
Looking at her car and then back at her, he raised his eyebrows. “You drive a Mercedes G-Class SUV? Those things start at like a hundred and fifty grand. How old are you?”
Lowering her eyes from his, she suddenly felt embarrassed. Spoiled little rich girl who gets everything she wants. Yeah, if they only knew. She wondered if Jace was thinking the same thing that so many others had thought about her.
“I’m twenty-one. How old are you?” she snapped.
He must have realized he’d hit a button because he didn’t say anything more about her car as he walked her over and opened the door for her. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a card and held it out to her.
