Everyone looked across the café to find someone dressed up as an Orca while Ruby breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe she wasn’t too loud. Carly was awfully loud and boisterous, and it didn’t seem to faze any of the men. In fact, all of them seemed to adore her.
She jumped when Nash reached over with a napkin and started wiping her chin.
“Sorry, little bit, you had some watermelon juice on your chin,” he said with a smile.
Lowering her eyes, she blushed, feeling silly that she couldn’t even eat without dribbling juice on her chin, but Nash reached over and cupped her chin gently.
“Don’t be embarrassed, Ruby. I love being able to help take care of my friends’ Littles. It makes me feel good inside. Understand?” Nash asked.
Looking over at Jace and Zane who smiled at her, she looked back at Nash and nodded.
“Yes,” she whispered.
Nash winked at her and smiled. “Thank you, little bit.”
Good lord, where did all these hot Daddies come from?

“Ruby and Carly seemed to hit it off,” Damian said as they all walked through the exit gates of the aquarium.
Jace was walking ahead, holding Ruby’s hand, while Nash had his arm around Carly’s shoulders as the girls giggled at something one of the men said.
“Yeah. We should schedule a playdate. I think Ruby needs some friends,” Zane replied.
“She doesn’t have any Little friends?” Damian asked.
Shrugging his shoulders, he watched the little girl that was quickly creeping her way into his heart.
“I get the feeling she doesn’t really have anyone. We’re still getting to know her, but she doesn’t ever talk about anyone else.”
Damian nodded. “That’s sad. Everyone needs people in their lives to care about them. I’m sure Carly would love a playdate. Let’s plan one soon.”
Everyone stopped and said their goodbyes, and Zane had to swallow a lump forming in his throat when Ruby looked shocked that Carly had hugged her goodbye. His baby girl needed more touch. She needed to know that people cared for her, and she needed to know she was perfect just the way she was.
He wanted to know everything about her. If it were just up to him, he would tie her to a chair and make her talk, but Jace would probably tell him that was too much. Damn Jace, always being the level-headed one.
“Are we going back to the club?” she asked when they started driving.
“We’d like to take you to our house for the night if that’s okay with you? If not, we can go back to the club,” Jace answered.
She seemed to ponder it for a minute but then nodded. “We can go to your house.”
It felt like a victory that she was trusting them enough to go home with them. Zane and Jace could see in her expressions that trust didn’t come easily for her, and they wanted to do whatever they could to show her that she was completely safe with them.
“Do you need anything from your house first? Medication or anything?” Zane asked.
“No. But I don’t have any extra clothes with me.”
Turning back to look at her, Zane smiled. “We have clothes at our house you can wear, baby doll. We have a fully stocked nursery.”
As soon as he said that, her expression changed and her eyes turned sad.
“What’s wrong, Ruby?” he asked.
When her bottom lip trembled, he felt as though his heart was being ripped out of his chest. Shit, he was already in deep.
