Giving him an exasperated look, she nodded. “That’s what I said, Zaddy. Sheesh. Maybe we need to look into hearing aids for you.”
“Ruby Elizabeth,” he said in a low voice.
Her entire face split into a wide grin that melted him into a pile of goo.
“Love you, Zaddy!”
Shaking his head, he grinned back at her. “Love you too, my little brat.”
RUBY
“On your feet, little one,” Zane instructed.
Letting out a sigh, Ruby got to her feet and stood in front of her Zaddy, who was trying his hardest to give her his best stern look.
He had been called to the playroom because she had refused to share the markers that she’d been using to color a pretty picture for her Daddies.
“March,” he said, pointing toward the door.
Uh-oh.
She knew she was in trouble if they were taking her to their office to discipline her. Her bottom cheeks clenched in anticipation for what was to come.
Walking through the club toward her Daddies’ office, she glanced back at Zane who raised an eyebrow at her.
Yeah, yeah. She was in trouble. And maybe she had meant to get into trouble because she hadn’t seen her Daddies in like almost an hour and she kind of wanted her bottom spanked.
Jace was in the office sitting at his desk when she walked in. He glanced up from his laptop and sat back in his chair, crossing his muscular arms over his chest.
“Little girl, what did you do this time?” Jace asked.
“Daddy, it’s a funny story, really. I was drawing you and Zaddy a pretty picture and someone wanted to use the exact same markers that I needed to color the picture so I told them they could use them after I was done,” she said casually.
Zane tilted his head, giving her an exasperated look. “Really? Because the room monitor said you took the entire bin of markers and hid it under the table so that other Littles couldn’t use them, and then when one of the Littles confronted you about it, you threw yourself on the floor and had a tantrum.”
Shifting from foot to foot, she shrugged. “Those are just rumors, Zaddy.”
“We have camera footage rolling in that room. Shall we pull it up?” Zane asked.
Whoops! She forgot about the silly cameras.
“Okay, fine. I wasn’t sharing. But the two other Littles weren’t including me in their conversation, and it made me feel sad,” she admitted.
Zane led her over to the couch and pulled her onto his lap. “Baby girl, did you ask the other Littles if you could be friends with them? Or ask if you could all color together?”
She hated when her Daddies asked questions they already knew the answers to.
“No,” she said quietly.
“So maybe they didn’t know that you wanted to be a part of their conversation. I know it’s scary to put yourself out there, baby girl, but unless you try, you’ll never know,” Zane told her.
Letting out a sigh, she nodded. “I know, Zaddy. It’s just scary.”
“I know, baby girl. But, despite all that, whether people include you in their conversation or not, you know that in the playroom you need to share all the toys, right?”
“Yes, Zaddy. I know,” she replied.
He nodded. “Okay. You need to go stand in the corner over there for a bit and think about that.”
