"Well, here's the thing. The presidential suite is also the honeymoon suite." he says through his laughter.
"Caleb, that wasn't nice." I'm trying to be serious, but after the show she made in the church, I understand why he's laughing. It just shows that money can buy you whatever you want.
We go into the reception area, get our key and the porter takes our bags up. In the meantime we go into the bar and order drinks. Then we take a seat, ready for the next performance.
Chapter Eleven
CALEB
Today has been surprisingly fun. Cora is lapping up the drama and I just love watching her smile and laugh. How did I ever walk away from her all those years ago? Fate has brought us together again and I will do whatever it takes to keep her with me. I don't want her to leave after the two months are up. I don't ever want her to leave me.
We are sitting having the meal when Tillie comes over. “Caleb, can I have a word with you, please?”
I look at Cora, then back to Tillie. “Yeah sure, how can I help you?” I make sure she sees my hand move to Cora’s thigh.
“In private,” she grunts out as she nods her head to the exit.
“I’m sorry, but if you have anything to say then you can just say it to me here, my wife doesn’t mind, do you, Cora?” I look at her.
She smiles. “Of course not, babe. I know about your history, nothing will shock me from her.” She looks so sweet and innocent, but inside she’s a raging tiger.
“No, outside.” She grabs my wrist to pull me up.
Cora reaches over and grabs her wrist. “Excuse me darling, when my husband says he doesn’t want to go outside with you for whatever you intend on doing out there, then he’s not going. Now if you have something to say, please get it out of the way so that we can enjoy the rest of our night here before we go to the Presidential suite and fuck our brains out.” Cora reaches out and takes her wine glass, drinks it dry and then holds it out for the waiter to pour her some more.
God, I love this woman. I lean into her and kiss her on the lips. “Thanks, babe.” Then I turn to Tillie. “You were saying?”
She is so frustrated she stomps her feet - I never noticed her do that before, maybe it’s her thing.
"When did you get time to get married? You never had time for me, your work was more important than me." Tillie stands with her hands on her hips.
"Maybe I just needed to find the right woman to take my mind off work. Guess that wasn't you." I want to laugh at her. She's so childish, what the hell did I ever see in her.
"So, how long have you known each other and how long ago did you get married?"
Cora nudges me. "I want to answer this question."
"Go ahead, babe." I watch as my woman leans over, so that she is closer to Tille.
"Not that it's any of your business, but we've known each other for years. We got married two weeks ago so we are still in the honeymoon period. He can't keep his hands off me." On cue I run my hand up and down her back. "You are so lucky you are just entering the honeymoon stage, so I suggest you go back over to your husband and enjoy him instead of eyeing up MY husband and trying to cause trouble." Cora moves back over to her seat. "Oh by the way, your husband is on his way over, I'm sure he will happy to know you were hitting on my husband." Tillie looks behind her.
Daly is moving swiftly over to us. He looks at me and at Cora. "Cora? Wow, I did not see that coming. How are you doing?" Tillie is looking at him.
"Do you know this bitch?" Tillie asks him.
He looks at her. Then down to Cora's right hand. "Ah, you're married I see." He looks at me. "To you? That is a blast from the past, how the hell did you two get over your issues from years ago?"
Again, Cora touches my hand. I shrug my shoulders and she leans into me, closer to Daly. "We fucked those issues out. And then we got married, wanting to make up for lost time."
I want to chuckle, but I can see Cora is being serious.
"What the fuck?" Tillie says. "Caleb, she is too crass for you."
"Crass? How is my wife being crass? She is putting you in your place for hitting on her husband when you've just got married. It doesn't matter how much myself and Daly don't get on, I don't wish that on him." I look at Daly as he looks between Tillie and myself.
Suddenly, she turns to face him. "Babe, don't believe anything he says, he's just jealous because I've married you. I love you."
Daly looks at me and then at Cora. "I wish you the best in your marriage. I was always rooting for you two." He turns and walks away from Tillie. She huffs and then stomps away after him. We watch them for another few minutes and see them arguing. Then Daly storms off to the bar.
