Page 127 of Their Blood Queen

“Oh, yes. You’re taking such good care of them, Scarlett,” Cain praises at the perfect moment, securing my push over the edge into another powerful climax.

I scream, and the sound ripples through this world, as well as the one of dreams. Something in me clicks into place as Sabre and Cage follow me into bliss, filling me with their cum as I ride the wave of orgasmic euphoria.

They pump into me, thrusting again and again until every last drop is emptied and we all slump into a useless heap together.

Cain is patient while I remember how to breathe again. He gently untangles me from the two Strigoi, who seem drunk on my blood.

He coddles me against his massive chest, then sets me on the bed. “Sleep, little star. And when you do, I’m going to make you come all over again in your dreams.”

I shiver, knowing this is my reality now. In my waking hours, my mates will fuck me into oblivion.

And then when I fall asleep, they’re going to do it all over again.

I’m Scarlett Nightingale, destined to be an Offering for vampiric monsters who feed on my flesh and my dreams.

I was always destined to be their blood Queen.

CHAPTER 38

SCARLETT

Three days later…

I never thought I’d actually see the Immortality Sector, but it’s exactly as I imagined it would be.

Perfect.

“Isn’t it lovely?” my mother asks as she joins me at the two-story window. We have a view of a massive garden with fountains and birds. There’s life here. Butterflies that look like they’re made of glass flitter around similarly crystalline roses. Life looks different here, but that’s to be expected.

Sunsets are my favorite. Everything looks as if it’s on fire and glimmers with reds and golds. The roses are the most spectacular displays at this hour, and they cast gleaming reflections across the ponds and the trees. I imagine it’s a great way for Cain to keep his watchful eye on this sector, given what I’ve learned about how his power works. He needs reflective surfaces to peer through, as well as a prayer to be let in.

If everything is as wonderful as it seems here, I imagine the Immortal inhabitants are regularly sending their gratitude to the Elite City King.

I haven’t met the other families in the Immortality Sector yet, but I look forward to it. Cain has told me that there are many monster-human pairings in the Immortality Sector as well, which I didn’t know. But it makes sense when this place is so serene and peaceful.

Lovely, just like my mother expressed.

When I turn to her, I can see the fruit of the immortality elixir that has erased the dark circles under her eyes. I hadn’t realized how the anti-aging tonic had simply been a bandage, something that masked an illness deep within but made it seem like she was doing better.

Now, her brown curls are silky and bouncy around her rosy cheeks. She looks more my age, if only slightly older, which is going to take some getting used to. Her bright eyes are silvery, like mine, as a result of the immortality elixir, but it suits her.

“Lovely,” I agree, but I’m talking more about her than the sector we now call home.

I won’t be living here in the new Nightingale Manor. I’ll be residing in Cain’s tower, and that’s something I’m going to have to wrap my mind around.

My evil brother is gone.

So is Edward and most of the Rinholds and their allies.

Flashes of the massacre spark through my mind. I know I’ll be having recurring dreams, but Cain promises he’s going to help with that.

“I’ll eat them for you, if you’d like. Nightmares taste the sweetest.”

I’m not sure how I feel about that, but if it makes Cain look at me like he wants to eat me, I’m happy to offer him a meal.

Because he rewards me with praise after.

And other things.
