West lies with Diane in his arms, both sated and tired. It took three rounds to fully satisfy him, and she didn’t seem to mind. In fact, she offered up positions he’d only ever seen in porn. She’s the perfect match for him in bed, and he loves making her come.
“Can I ask you something?” West asks, his fingers playing with the ends of her curls.
“After what you just did to me, you can ask me anything,” Diane says with a laugh. “But if the question is if we can do it again, the answer is yes. The answer is always yes.”
It took a little work getting her out of that weird strap of an outfit, and he much prefers her naked. Completely naked.
“Hey, you offered,” he says and smiles. “And I’m fucking glad you did. But my question might upset you, so I don’t want to ruin this if it will.”
“If you upset me too much, I have a feeling your mouth can convince me to forgive you. You have a strong tongue. Best I’ve ever had.”
He likes the idea of having her riding his face a little more than he wants to admit. “Why did you pick Colt?”
“Excuse me?”
“To latch onto. There are many unmarried and unattached men in the club. Why’d you fixate on Colt?”
Turning onto her side, she lifts herself onto her elbow. “I guess it was because he was so strong. I mean, we all heard that Colt carried Casey after he died on the battlefield. And he looked so rugged. I think I wanted to be like him as much as I thought I wanted to be with him.”
“Do you still want him?”
She shakes her head, her curls tickling his biceps as she does. “No. I don’t know that I really did before. Not for anything more than a night, I supposed. I think part of it for me was that I knew it would never be serious.”
“Why not?”
“Because it was obvious he loved his wife. He was just fighting his own demons. At the end of the day, he’d never pick me. I could maybe warm his bed for a night or two, but I’d never be his old lady.”
“Is that what you want? To be someone’s old lady?”
Smiling, she looks from his face to his chest. Her eyes fixate on a bullet wound scar, and she touches it lightly with her fingertip. “I never used to, but it has more of an appeal now than it used to.”
“Diane-”
“The kitten life, I mean bunny life, has been fun and all, but I’m ready for something serious. Someone who wants me for more than just sex. I love the sex, don’t get me wrong, but I want someone who cares about my feelings. Someone who comes home to me after being gone on a run and can’t wait to be with me. Even if that’s in bed. I want just one man.”
“Diane, you know that guy... It’s not me. You know that, right?”
Her eyes flash up to his. “What?”
“I’m not the serious type.”
“But you... you never go to bed with anyone. Everyone has tried, and you always say no. You brought me to your place.”
“I find you attractive and bold, but I’m also horny. Not to say that you aren’t amazing because you are, especially in bed, but I’m not someone to settle down with. I’m a good time every-now-and-then type, but I’m not a boyfriend type. And I have zero intentions of ever having an old lady.”
Sitting up, she covers herself with the sheet. Considering she came into the clubhouse wearing pasties, this doesn’t appear to be a good sign. “Never?”
He shakes his head. “I’m not good with relationships. Never have been, and I probably never will be. I’m sorry if you thought otherwise.”
“I should go,” Diane says and climbs out of bed. “Can I borrow a shirt? I’ll have it back to you-”
“Top drawer on the right,” he says. “And you can keep it.”
West watches her open the drawer and pull out a black t-shirt. She slips it on, and it comes down to damn near her knees. The sight has him wanting her again because it looks so damn sexy. If he would’ve kept his mouth shut about Colt, this wouldn’t be over before he had his fill. Diane will run, and she’ll never sleep with him again. At the end of the day, it might actually be for the best, though.
“Thanks for tonight,” she says and slips on her jacket. “I’ll see you around.”
“Diane, let me give you a ride-”
