“It’s your wedding present.”

“Last I checked, we aren’t married.”

“It’s a wedding present, but I want you to have it now.” I open the file.

“What is this?” I’m looking at purchase documents, and when I read the first few lines, it says House of Beauty. “I don’t understand.”

“House of Beauty is yours, among a few other things.”

“Are you joking? This isn’t funny.” I look at him suspiciously.

“Why would I joke about something like this?” he looks at me, confused.

“I don’t know. Maybe because I’m holding papers that say I own House of Beauty.”

“I bought it before everything went wrong. You can ask Oliver. Doesn’t it make you happy?”

“I don’t know the first thing about owning a company.”

“You got this.”

“Viktor…” I begin but decide to kiss him instead. “Thank you,” I add once I break the kiss.

“This is for you to build a future outside the Manarch name. Something for you and our children.” I didn’t think it was possible to love him more. “You don’t have to do it alone. I’m here for you.”

“What about the babies?”

“What about them?”

“They need me.”

“And they have you. Would it help if I told you the House of Beauty building has been remodeled to fit your needs?”

“What?”

“Your office has been designed so you can take them to work if you want.”

I exhale in joy.

“You’re amazing.” I hug him. “You have no idea what this means to me.”

“I never want you to feel like you need to depend on anyone. Well, except me,” Viktor teases.

“Aw, shut up and kiss me.”

He does, then pulls me to stand and leads us to my bedroom. Wherever he was going is irrelevant now because I’m ripping his clothes off. I need him to claim me as only he can.

Chapter Fifty-Three

Viktor

Amonth has passed since I gave Ava her present, and everything has been so good between us that I’ve been evaluating my life. In my line of work, good moments don’t come easily. I’ve lived a life full of violence and death.

I never thought there was more to life before Ava walked into the restaurant. She was a sassy, smart-mouthed woman who was barely keeping shit together in her own life, but now she’s an amazing mother and businesswoman who always puts her family first. It’s always about the little things with her, and I aspire to be like her.

Her focus on the little things led to her implementing family Sunday brunch. Whatever might be happening, everything stops once a week for a few hours of family time. Today is Sunday, and she’s been on a roll. It’s amusing

“Get your ass off the couch, Viktor,” Ava snaps, entering the living room.
