We take turns cleaning and pleasuring each other before we leave the shower and get dressed. I check my watch and figure we have just enough time to grab breakfast before I meet with Dante.
I direct her toward the table with Chaos, Scar, Evie, and Caitlin while I head to the kitchen to grab our plates. I greet Tamara with a kiss on her cheek as I take the plates she hands me. Eggs, sausage, hash brown and toasts piled high. “Smells amazing,” I tell her. She beams at me before returning to the stove. Kingsley used to be the one who did all the cooking. But once Grimm claimed her, Tamara and Jenna took over her duties.
Handing Min her plate, I take the seat next to her and dig in.
“Heard you took out Billings and Blankenship,” Chaos says to Min. “I was kind of hoping for a chance at them, but dead is good.”
“I can’t deny I felt some satisfaction in ending Billings after he tried to burn down the dojo with my dad inside. And Blankenship was just as satisfying.”
“Did you take any heat for it?” Evie asks.
Min shrugs while I frown. We practically ran out of town. “Did they mention you staying in town?” I ask her.
“Schwartz said he’d need to talk to me, but he didn’t order me to stay,” Min responds. “He may not be happy, but he assured me he’d treat Billings’ death as self-defense. Don’t know what he’ll think when he finds the other dead bodies. I just hope he doesn’t try to pin their deaths and the fire on me. Even though I did kill the other men.”
“If he contacts you, let me know,” Evie says. I give her a nod of thanks.
“Chaos, Babe. My office,” calls Dante from behind me. I scrape up the last of my eggs with my last bite of toast before giving a kiss to Min and standing to follow Chaos.
“Does Ghost know you’re banging his cousin?” Chaos teases me.
“He will when I put a property kutte on her.”
Chaos’s eyebrows rise, and he barks out a laugh. “You’re the last person who would claim an Old Lady. Didn’t you used to say banging the same chick would get boring?”
“Well, I was younger and dumber, and I hadn’t met Min yet. No fucking way I’ll ever get bored with her.”
Chaos nods as we enter Dante’s office. Grimm is already inside. “Just keep in mind that if you wander, Min can kick your ass.”
“Yeah, she can,” I say with a grin.
“Claiming Min?” Grimm asks. I nod. “Good man. She’s a helluva woman.”
“What about the bounty hunting business?” Dante asks. “Are you two still going to work together on that? Because your first job was a fucking success.”
“Why wouldn’t we? We make a great team.”
“I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with Kingsley working as a bounty hunter,” Grimm admits.
“Min can take care of herself. Hell, she took out four men by herself. Two of the men were members of the Triad. I think. You know Fenhua was there? Min thinks he may be on his way here to San Diego. He knows his parents are dead.”
“We’re on it,” Dante says. “Reaper, Ghost, and Flame are taking turns staking out the airport and Byte and Smoke are getting a lock on him.”
“Will the Chicago crew help?” Chaos asks.
“That’s why I wanted to meet. They’ve got a rat in their clubhouse,” Dante says.
I give them a rundown on why I think they have a problem. Dante knows most of what happened while Min and I were in Chicago. The guys are angry, but they don’t lose it until I relate the last confrontation between Chrome, Scorch, and me.
“They think you and Min are the rats?” Chaos explodes. “How the fuck could you have attacked Mode?”
“I think the attack on Scorch and Trigger sent Scorch off the deep end.”
“That’s possible. Trigger is Scorch’s cousin. They’re close,” Grimm adds.
“Still doesn’t give him a right to go after a brother. And it doesn’t excuse Chrome siding with him,” Chaos grumbles.
“I’ll get Chrome to apologize once the Nomads ferret out the real rat,” Dante says. “Any thoughts on who that could be?”
