Austin

We've been friends for years, but lately my feelings for him have shifted. With Henry, everything feels perfect. We can talk for hours or sit in comfortable silence. Not to mention, he's gorgeous, and even his smile gives me butterflies. I can't help imagining what it would be like we were more than friends.

Austin Mitchell is my ideal man. A tour boat operator with a smile a mile wide, he took me under his wing when I first moved to town. But he’s off limits, even if I wanted to risk our friendship by telling him how I feel. Then we play a game of Truth or Dare and everything I thought about him changes in an instant. Now I can’t get the idea of kissing him out of my head.

More Than A Secret is a 17,800k word novella set in the “More Than” world of Blue Point where a game of Truth or Dare sets the path for true love.

Chapter One

Austin

For the past three years, I’ve walked along the dock at sunrise and it’s still one of my favourite times of day. There’s something magical about the sun rising over the turquoise waters of Blue Point, glinting off the gently moving surface, the rays casting a golden glow along the shoreline. I reach the end of the dock and close my eyes, inhaling a deep breath of fresh air. The salty tang of the sea is a balm to my soul. The gentle lap of waves, the clanking of rigging against masts, and the squawk of a seagull are soothing, and I allow the sounds to wash over me.

“G’day, Austin.”

My morning mediation is interrupted.

I open my eyes and turn at the greeting. “Morning, Jim. You’re early today.” Jim’s been fishing off the dock since before I was born and I see him down here most days.

“Going to be another hot one,” he says in his gruff voice, made that way by years of smoking.

“Perfect day to be out on the water,” I reply. “I’ve got the best job in the world.”
