The doorbell rings after we’ve finished eating and everyone has settled into chatting. I notice Shade is quiet, stroking a thumb over my shoulder. I check the time. “Finally. Someone is late. This is a normal town again.”
I check the peephole out of habit and collect the groceries as the guy leaves them. Shade joins me, brushing against me as often as possible without being too obvious. Needing attention.
I glance into the dining room I never expected to use, noting that the fridge is covered by the wall separating the rooms. No one can see us there. They’re talking and having a good time, entertaining themselves for the moment. Good enough.
Shade is just straightening from putting drinks in the fridge, closing the door. I stalk behind him, wrapping an arm around his waist and sliding my hand into his boxers before he realizes what I’m up to. He never did his pants back up. He’s been eating right next to me, hard as a rock under his shirt. I could have touched him at any point. Did he want that?
I grip him in a tight fist and pull in long, hard strokes.
“Need some attention?” I ask him with a smirk, pressing my body into his back.
“Shit,” he mutters, bracing his hands on the fridge as he looks down.
“I’m happy to give it to you,” I kiss along his shoulder as his hips jerk in time with my strokes.
He grabs the bottom of his shirt to lift it up and watch my hand move inside his clothes.
“Yes. Like that. Shit.”
“Tell me you packed my favorite pajamas and I’ll let you cum right now.”
“I don’t know, fuck, which ones,” his voice trails away in a pant.
“Oh,” I let him go and step back. “Guess you better check then. It’s the Woodwind one. Maybe next time.”
He spins in a move I wasn’t anticipating but delights me. He’s fast. He jerks me to him and slams his lips across mine.
I return his ferocity with sly licks across his tongue.
“You’re going to fucking kill me,” he mutters.
“I need you too badly to let it end like that.”
“You’re too goddamn patient.”
“You’ll appreciate that later.”
He huffs a laugh and rests his forehead against mine. He’s sweating now. I give him a moment to cool down, stroking his back easily. I’m not sure if it helps but it feels good to me.
“Shade.”
“Yeah?”
“Are you in trouble? For quitting.”
“I don’t know and I don’t care,” he presses his lips to mine gently this time.
“I won’t let them touch you.”
He draws back to look me in the eyes. “I know. I’m yours.”
“You are,” I sigh with a smile.
“Break it up lovebirds,” Max calls with a laugh.
“Back to work,” I kiss him quickly and walk away. “Your drinks are in the fridge, Ter-bear.”
“I don’t know if I want them anymore,” she says with a wince.
