Amadeo hands me the plate of eggs and a napkin, before picking up a fork, stabbing some of the omelet and putting it to my mouth.
I shake my head, although the food makes my stomach growl in anticipation. “I need to brush my teeth first.”
He examines me before nodding and setting the plate back down on the tray. He kisses my head, tossing the covers off me.
I shiver, but only for a second, because as his eyes rove over my naked body, heat follows them.
“Up you get then. Brush them. I’m making sure you eat, so there’s no point in dragging your feet.”
I sigh and rise. He tsks at my response and slaps my bottom as I walk by. It ignites some of last night’s sting as well as causing a rush of heat to my pussy. I brush my teeth quickly and return, feeling desperate for his cock again.
“I saw how upset you were yesterday in the lobby when you saw Gwen, but I had no idea who she was then,” I say, climbing back onto the bed.
“Seems we both have a problem with exes, huh?”
Not wanting to talk about Mark, I change the subject slightly. “I wanted to apologize yesterday.”
He takes a forkful of egg and prompts me to open my mouth.“I remember,” he replies as he slides the fork out of my mouth, his expression even. “I told you it wasn’t necessary.”
“It is though. I had no idea she asked so much of you.”
His brow crops up. “She?”
“My sister.” I feel heat creep to my cheeks. “She’s the one who sent the email.”
“I knew it.” He points the empty fork at me. “You lied to me, little girl.” His look is feral and sexy as hell.
“I did, but only because it was still my fault. I was the one responsible for keeping my socials and inbox safe.”
He nods. “Well, I can’t argue with that.” His eyes narrow. “But no more lies, yeah? I’m big on trust and loyalty, got me?”
“No more.” I hold up two fingers in promise like a good little girl guide. He scoops up more eggs and puts them into my mouth.
“Good, because I don’t want to have to paddle that ass raw, but I will.”
Fuck. My desire soaks my thighs. Why the hell is that such a turn-on?
His phone chimes and he looks down at it. “I have to run. Milo needs me at the front desk. Honestly, I have no idea how they solved problems before I was here.” He sets the fork down on the plate and hands me a piece of toast.
“Finish everything.” His arched brow punctuates the statement.
I give him a toothy grin and put another fork full of eggs in my mouth. Now that I’ve started eating I am completely ravenous.
“Hurry up and get ready after breakfast. After I deal with this shit, and have a word with Gwen, I’m taking the rest of the day off. We’re going to the waterfall.”
“The waterfall?”
A smile slowly spreads on his face. “If you liked the cliff yesterday, you’ll love this jump.”
I swallow hard.
“And if you just want to hike back down instead, that’s okay too.”
“Seriously? I never saw that in your brochure.”
“Because it’s not there.”
“But my family?”
