“Does it need warming up again?”
“Nu, Dada.” She shook her head rapidly.
“Are you sure? You’re being awfully naughty for someone who still has a warm hiney.”
“I’m sure, Dada.”
I kissed her forehead before handing her the bottle of water. She took it with a smile and had several sips before passing it back.
“Good girl,” I praised.
“Tinsley is good?” she asked, pulling at my heartstrings. She was so damn hard on herself.
“Tinsley is a very good girl.”
“Sometimes Tinsley is bad.”
“No,” I said, taking her chin in my hands. “Tinsley is human and sometimes she makes a mistake, but even then, Tinsley is still a good girl. Tinsley is kind. Tinsley loves big. Tinsley is patient and gracious.”
She pulled her chin out of my grasp and fidgeted.
“Tinsley, you are a very good girl,” I promised, with a kiss to her forehead. I’d tell her as many times as she needed to hear it.
Tinsley
“This one?” I asked Daddy, holding up a coffee mug shaped like Bigfoot.
“Oh, that’s a nice one,” he agreed. I handed it to him and we continued browsing the aisles.
“Let’s look at those hair bows, baby. I bet we can find you some pretty ones.”
I nodded and we sorted through the rack. Daddy picked several pretty patterns out. I loved hair bows. I usually wore them to keep my curly bangs out of my face.
“You didn’t see any you liked, babygirl?”
Heat rushed to my face when I noticed a few women looking my way.
Daddy followed my gaze before pulling me into his chest. “You are perfect just the way you are and I love that you’re my Little one.”
I kissed his chest and nodded.
They didn’t know the bows were for me, I think they were just looking because Daddy called me babygirl… or because he was very handsome. I wasn’t sure. I just got nervous around women my own age unless they were Littles too.
I picked through the bows and found two I liked. I added them to the pile in Daddy’s hand. “Card?” I asked.
He picked it up and read the back. “Oh, it’s a link to the person’s online shop.”
“Take one?”
“Yeah, we can totally take one,” he agreed. We loved to support small businesses.
He put the card in his back pocket and we headed toward the checkout. We passed the women on the way and one of them smiled at me. I smiled back before pressing into Daddy’s side. That was enough social interaction for today.
We browsed several more places. I loved Helen. Even the shops were charming!
I saw a toy store from one of the walkways and tugged Daddy’s hand. He looked down at me indulgently, making me swoon.
“Yes, little one?”
